Talent Partner Catena · Remote (US) · NY Preferred · Full-Time The Short Version We're 15 people, moving fast, and building the connectivity layer that freight has been missing for 20 years. We need someone who can own recruiting end-to-end, not a coordinator or a job-poster, but a talent operator who helps us define what great looks like, builds a process worth being proud of, and closes strong people into a company worth joining. This is our first dedicated recruiting hire and a founding-level role in everything but title. What You'll Own Recruiting is the whole job. You'll help define what "great" looks like for each role before we open it, build and run tight interview processes, maintain a candidate experience we'd be proud of if we were the ones applying, and help close the people we actually want. You'll own the pipeline, the process, and the outcome, not just the scheduling. Beyond the individual search, you'll help us get better at hiring over time. That means building the infrastructure: how we write job descriptions, how we evaluate candidates consistently, how we debrief well, how we move fast without cutting corners. You'll be the center of gravity for every search we run. What This Role Is Not This is not a coordination role. It's not about posting jobs and managing calendars. It's not HR generalism, benefits administration, or policy work. You'll spend your time thinking about talent, where to find it, how to assess it, and how to close it. Everything else lives outside this role. Who Fits This Role You've run recruiting in high-growth startups (10–100 people) and understand what it means to hire without a big brand, a big budget, or a big team behind you. You've probably held a title like Recruiting Lead, Talent Partner, or Head of Talent — or you've been the recruiting function at a small company while the title said something else. Specifically, you: - Have real recruiting reps. You've owned searches end-to-end, managed pipelines, and personally helped close candidates not just moved them through a system. - Think like a builder. You see a broken hiring process and want to fix it, not work around it. - Are comfortable with ambiguity. Priorities shift moving from seed to Series A. You stay oriented and keep searches moving anyway. - Write clearly and communicate directly. Candidates and hiring managers both deserve crisp, honest communication. - Handle sensitive situations with judgment. Hiring decisions carry real stakes at a small company. - Take ownership seriously. You're the person who catches a slow pipeline before it becomes a missed hire. 5+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or startup talent operations. Why Catena, Why Now Catena has raised $8.25M from Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Plug and Play, Liquid 2, and leading industry angels. Customers are already using us in production — many of them are also investors, which tells you something. We're operators who've worked inside carriers, brokerages, TMSs, and financial institutions. We care about accuracy and real outcomes. The team we're building reflects that. If you join now, you'll help set the cultural and operational foundation for a company with real momentum. That's rare. Compensation: Competitive salary, meaningful equity, full benefits, 401k match. Remote-first. Optional travel for team offsites and occasional on-sites.
• Build & Ship Product Interfaces • Own the Website & CMS • Contribute to Design Systems • Optimize for Performance • Collaborate Cross-Functionally
This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description We normalize real-time telematics and execution data from hundreds of thousands of trucks and trailers — across 130+ providers — into a single API. The data is complex, the customers are technical, and the interfaces we build need to make both feel approachable. We're looking for a frontend engineer who can help us get there. This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll work closely with our founding team and product designer to ship high-quality product interfaces, contribute to our component library, and help us build the frontend foundation that scales with the company. What You'll Do - Build & Ship Product Interfaces: Develop data dashboards, operational workflows, onboarding flows, and developer-facing tools that our customers use every day. Focus on turning complex, real-time logistics data into interfaces that are fast, clear, and reliable. - Own the Website & CMS: Build and maintain Catena's marketing site and content infrastructure using Next.js and Sanity CMS. Ensure the site is fast, maintainable, and easy for non-engineers to update. - Contribute to Design Systems: Help build and maintain the component library and design patterns that keep our product consistent as it grows. - Optimize for Performance: Ensure our interfaces handle high-volume, real-time data gracefully — fast load times, efficient state management, and responsive design. - Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work directly with engineering, product, and design to move features from concept to production. Qualifications - Proficient in React, TypeScript, and Next.js with experience building complex, data-rich UIs in production environments. - Hands-on experience with Sanity CMS — content modeling, schema design, and building editor experiences for non-technical teammates. - Understanding of state management, component architecture, and frontend performance from real-world debugging experience. - Experience working with APIs and handling real-time or high-frequency data on the client side. - Ability to write clean, well-tested code and take code review seriously. - Natural collaboration with designers and backend engineers, bridging the gap between Figma files and production UIs. - Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of making decisions when specifications are not fully defined. - Experience with data visualization, mapping, or logistics/supply chain products is a plus; curiosity about the domain is essential. - 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, with significant time in React, TypeScript, and Next.js production codebases. Benefits - Competitive salary - Meaningful equity - Full benefits - 401k match - Remote-first work environment with optional travel for team offsites and occasional on-sites
Product Designer Catena · Remote (US) · Full-Time The Short Version We're building the connectivity layer that freight has been missing — normalizing real-time telematics and execution data from hundreds of thousands of trucks and trailers into a single API. The product is technical, the data is dense, and the customers are sophisticated operators. Your job is to make all of it feel simple. This is our first design hire. At 15 people, design isn't a downstream handoff. It's how we think through problems before we build them — and the person who joins now sets the standard for everything that follows. What You'll Own Product Design — you'll design the interfaces our customers actually use: data dashboards, analytics views, operational workflows, developer-facing tools, and configuration interfaces. The work is technically complex and data-heavy. Your job is to make it feel intuitive without hiding what makes it powerful. Brand & Marketing Design — you'll help shape and maintain Catena's visual identity across everything customer-facing: website, sales collateral, marketing graphics, presentations, email campaigns, and event materials. Consistency and polish matter here — first impressions in enterprise freight are hard to recover from. Website & Content Design — you'll help evolve how Catena communicates its platform online. That means designing pages that make complex integration workflows and technical capabilities legible to a non-technical buyer — and credible to a technical one. Cross-Functional Collaboration — you'll work directly with product and engineering to move ideas from concept to shipped product. At this stage, that means getting into the room early, helping structure problems visually before anyone writes a line of code, and staying close to implementation to make sure quality holds. Who Fits This Role Strong candidates have worked on data-heavy or developer-facing products and understand that designing for technical users is its own discipline — it's not about simplifying things into oblivion, it's about making complexity navigable. You're as comfortable in Figma mocking up a dashboard as you are in Illustrator building a conference one-pager. Specifically, you: - Have a strong product design foundation — wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI — and can move fluidly between them. - Have designed data-heavy interfaces before. You understand information hierarchy, visual density, and how people actually scan dashboards under time pressure. - Can cover brand and marketing design without treating it as a lesser task. Both matter here. - Collaborate naturally with engineers. You understand constraints, speak their language well enough to build trust, and know when to push back on "we can't do that." - Bring strong visual taste and the judgment to know when something isn't ready. - Are comfortable operating without a design system, a brand bible, or a large team — and energized by the chance to build those things. 2+ years in product design, UX/UI, or a hybrid product and brand design role. Experience with SaaS platforms, data products, or developer tools is a meaningful plus. Why Catena, Why Now Catena has raised $8.25M from Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Plug and Play, Liquid 2, and leading industry angels. Customers are already using us in production — many of them are also investors. Design at Catena is foundational, not decorative. The person who joins now will set the visual and experiential standard for everything we build — the product, the brand, and how we show up in a market that hasn't historically cared much about either. That's a rare opportunity to do work that actually sticks. Compensation: Competitive salary, meaningful equity, full benefits, 401k match. Remote-first. Optional travel for team offsites and occasional on-sites.
People & Talent Lead Catena · Remote (US) · Full-Time The Short Version We're 15 people, moving fast, and building the connectivity layer that freight has been missing for 20 years. We need someone who can make the team run at its best — not a policy manager or an HR generalist, but an operator who owns the people function end-to-end and raises the bar on how we hire, onboard, and develop talent. This is our first dedicated people hire — and a founding-level role in everything but title. What You'll Own Recruiting — not just posting jobs. You'll help define what "great" looks like for each role, run tight interview processes, maintain the candidate experience we'd want if we were the ones applying, and help close strong people. You won't do this for every hire — but when we're recruiting, you're the center of gravity. Onboarding — we move fast and new hires need to ramp faster. You'll design the systems and rituals that get someone productive and culturally embedded in their first 30–60 days. Then you'll keep improving it. Performance & Feedback — we want honest, structured, useful performance conversations. You'll help build and run the review cycles, goal-setting frameworks, and manager enablement that make feedback land well and drive real development. Company Operations — team offsites, internal documentation, benefits, HR systems, employee lifecycle management. The connective tissue that keeps a distributed team aligned and the basics working smoothly. What This Role Is Not This is not a compliance role. It's not a headcount factory. It's not about managing HR tickets or writing policy documents no one reads. You'll spend very little time in the administrative weeds. You'll spend a lot of time thinking about how to make a small, high-performing team operate at its ceiling — and then building the systems to get there. Who Fits This Role The best candidates will have worked in high-growth startups (10–100 people) and understand what it means to build people infrastructure without a playbook. You've probably held a title like People Ops Lead, Recruiting Lead, Startup Ops, or Chief of Staff — or you've worn several of those hats at once. Specifically, you: - Think like an operator first. You see a broken process and want to fix it, not document it. - Are comfortable with ambiguity. At 15 people, priorities shift. You stay oriented. - Have real recruiting reps. You've run searches, managed pipelines, and helped close candidates — not just coordinated scheduling. - Handle sensitive situations with judgment and discretion. Small teams mean high stakes on people decisions. - Write clearly and communicate directly. You won't have a big team to absorb miscommunication. - Take ownership seriously. You'll be the person who catches things before they become problems. 5+ years of experience in people ops, HR, talent, or startup operations. Why Catena, Why Now Catena has raised $8.25M from Shaper Capital, Floating Point, Plug and Play, Liquid 2, and leading industry angels.
