Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and CPA is a plus.
- Candidate should be self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, work within tight deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
- Superior poise and professionalism.
- Must be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require.

GCI's Accountant II will work as an integral member of the General Ledger Accounting team, participate in the monthly general ledger close, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Provide direct and indirect support for all business departments within GCI and subsidiaries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS: - Efficient and accurate reconciliation of high volume and/or complex balance sheet accounts including maintenance of related spreadsheets, preparation of related journal entries, and review of subledger data. - Preparation of monthly recurring journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close processes. - Research G/L and subledger related questions and prepare correcting and special request JE’s or other adjustments as required and Accounting and analysis support for employees in other departments. - Other duties, including but not limited to, preparing property tax returns based on G/L records, preparing audit work papers as directed and providing backup support in the absence of other G/L group members. Internal Control Considerations: Oracle General Ledger module as well as other Oracle modules as needed to perform basic job function. This module access will come with varying levels of responsibility and include: Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Management, Cash Management, Receivables, Payables, Purchasing, Inventory, etc. Specific accesses will be determined according to the particular position to be filled. Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Property Accountant ensures that the financial statements for their portfolio are completed timely and accurately. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide internal and external reporting of a portfolio/property’s financial results. Prepare the monthly financial statement packages for clients. This work includes creating and posting journal entries recorded to the general ledger, fixed asset depreciation, and amortization schedules, in-depth review of the general ledger and income statement, bank statement reconciliations, in-depth property manager variance comment review, and balance sheet reconciliations.
