Finance Associate
PSD
Performance Systems Development (PSD) is seeking a Finance Associate who manages financial reporting and day-to-day accounts receivable functions, including preparing accurate invoices, applying incoming payments, and assisting with collection efforts. The Finance Associate will utilize accounting systems and related tools to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and recommend improvements. This position ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and timely, while also contributing new ideas to strengthen the Finance function. In this role, you will balance essential accounting responsibilities with opportunities to drive insight, efficiency, and innovation across the department. What You’ll Do Forecasting & Reporting - Develop budgets and forecasts in both time and dollars. Provide reporting to manage to those projections. - Prepare and issue accurate, complete, and timely monthly financial reporting to colleagues. - Conduct variance analysis and provide narrative summaries of findings. - Gather and prepare financial records, schedules, and reports for internal and external audits. - Independently use Excel and other tooling to streamline processes. Customer Invoicing - Prepare and issue accurate, complete, and timely invoices to customers, in collaboration with colleagues. - Track the status of invoices and communicate with colleagues or clients to resolve delays or discrepancies. - Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection activities as needed. - Reconcile accounts receivable to support accurate month-end close. - Independently use QuickBooks Online, Excel and other accounting software to manage workflows. Banking & Treasury Support - Enter and review bank deposits and internal transfers to ensure alignment with accounting records. - Perform reconciliations using bank feed tools and follow up on discrepancies. - Report on the company’s cash position and liquidity. Other Duties Include - Learn and adapt to new software and tools, making recommendations to the Finance team for improved efficiency. - Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve existing processes through technology. - Cross-train with peers to serve as backup during absences and peak workload periods. This position reports to the VP of Finance and plays a key role in ensuring PSD’s financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, while also bringing forward new ideas, analytical insights, and a mindset of continuous improvement. What You Bring - Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - 1–2 years of experience in accounting or other data-intensive operations, including the ability to collect, clean, upload and interpret data. - Proven ability to learn new technology quickly, adapt to software updates, and find ways to improve processes through automation or system use. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to bring new ideas to improve operations. - Demonstrated ability to use accounting software and related tools to work efficiently and accurately. - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
