Product Counsel

Vetcove

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts for all business functions, including: software licensing and SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, service level/support agreements, distribution agreements, DPAs, and other partnership agreements. • Provide legal advice to support business partners across the company, including working closely with the business and product team on new product launches. • Contribute to Vetcove’s privacy program by drafting and negotiating DPAs and advising the business teams on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including consumer data collection, use and disclosures. • Develop and maintain terms of service, terms of use, disclaimers, and other customer facing documentation. • Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with new features, updates, and product launches. • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal strategies that align with business goals.

Job Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of legal experience with a focus on technology and product counseling, ideally gained at a top-tier law firm (e.g., an AmLaw 100) or in-house at a software/tech-focused company.
  • Strong background in commercial contracting and tech transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
