Location: Barcelona preferred, open globally Type: Full-time or Part-time (Freelance or Contract) Experience: Senior/Lead 👋 About Us At THE/STUDIO, our vision is to empower individuals, regardless of their expertise, to unleash their creativity and bring their unique ideas to life through the production of custom products. We are committed to delivering top-quality customized products that not only exceed expectations but also provide a seamless and awe-inspiring experience via our exceptional team and AI-integrated systems. By shouldering the manufacturing burdens, we liberate our customers to focus on their true passions, driving them towards remarkable success and fulfillment. Together, we turn dreams into tangible realities and shape a world where creativity knows no bounds. Our headquarters are in Los Angeles, California, but we are a truly global company with team-members across the U.S., Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia/Pacific. We have gone to a fully remote working platform so that we can attract the world’s best talent. All roles at THE/STUDIO are 100% remote from anywhere in the world, as long as you have all your tools and a fast, stable internet connection! We know that some applicants will not meet all the requirements, so we encourage you to apply anyway so we can determine if something else might be a good fit! The Role We are looking for a visionary Fashion Creative Director to architect, lead, and launch an original in-house brand powered by THE/STUDIO’s manufacturing ecosystem. This is not a traditional design role. You will act as the Founder-in-Residence, operating at the high-impact intersection of brand storytelling, industrial design, and supply chain innovation. You will have full creative autonomy to build a brand from the ground up, using our global manufacturing network as your playground. Beyond aesthetics, you are a strategic partner. You will use this brand as a "live lab" to stress-test our supply chain, provide high-level advisory to our top-tier customers, and help shape the future of THE/STUDIO’s proprietary manufacturing software. What You’ll Do 1. Brand Vision & Creative Direction - Define the DNA: Establish the brand’s visual identity, voice, and market positioning. - End-to-End Design: Lead the creation of apparel collections (and potentially accessories/home) from initial mood boards to production-ready tech packs. - Storytelling: Oversee the "world-building" of the brand, ensuring the aesthetic translates across product, packaging, and digital presence. 2. Manufacturing Strategy & R&D - Factory Partnership: Work directly with global production partners to push the boundaries of what’s possible in material sourcing and construction. - System Optimization: Act as a "Power User" to identify friction points in our manufacturing workflow, providing feedback to our product and engineering teams to improve our software. - Cost & Quality Governance: Balance high-concept design with the commercial realities of costing, lead times, and scalability. 3. Strategic Advisory - Executive Consultant: Advise THE/STUDIO’s leadership on industry trends, manufacturing best practices, and design innovation. - Customer Ambassador: Join high-stakes calls with key customers to provide expert guidance on how to scale their own brands using our ecosystem. What We’re Looking For - Senior Brand Experience: Proven track record (7+ years) of launching a fashion brand or leading creative direction for an established label. We want to see a portfolio that shows both artistry and commercial success. - Technical Mastery: You aren't just a "mood boarder." You understand garment construction, textiles, and the "physics" of manufacturing deeply. - Entrepreneurial Muscle: Experience navigating the "gray areas" of a startup. You have a bias toward action and the seniority to make high-stakes decisions without a roadmap. - Multidisciplinary Eye: Expert-level apparel knowledge is required; experience in jewelry, accessories, or home decor is a significant advantage. - Communicator & Influence: Ability to translate complex manufacturing constraints into clear creative directions for internal teams and external customers. Why This Role? - Zero Financial Friction: We cover all R&D, sampling, and production costs. You focus on the vision; we provide the engine. - Full Autonomy: Act as the head of your own brand while leveraging the infrastructure of a global tech company. - Influence the Industry: Your work will directly improve the tools used by thousands of other creators worldwide. 💡THE/STUDIO’s Company Values - Intellectually curious - possesses a natural disposition and comfort to ask questions, challenge the status quo, and a desire to ‘get to the bottom of things’ if they see something not quite right - Self-motivated with a meaningful reason to deliver excellence - Good communication skills that enhance collaboration, minimize misunderstandings, and at a frequency that is appropriate for a remote team - Radical candor - Coachable, accepting of constructive negative feedback and willing to provide constructive negative feedback where applicable - Operates with a level of urgency - values immediate action where prudent, enables quick decision-making, swift problem-solving, and seizing opportunities in a dynamic business environment - Natural customer centricity - has an affinity to always start their train of thought or analysis with the customer’s perspective, bias towards talking to the customer to understand them - Results-driven - focuses on achieving and exceeding measurable objectives 🔎 Our Typical Hiring Process - Submit an application. IMPORTANT: Please submit your resume/CV in English - Initial Chat with CEO - Assessment/Case Study - Reference Check Note that every role is different, so the process may vary depending on the requirements of the role. Please note that due to the volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide feedback to all applications. At THE/STUDIO, we know that our Company's strength lies in the diversity of our team. THE/STUDIO is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Our policy is to provide equal opportunities for all applicants and individuals regardless of protected characteristics. We prioritize and maintain a fair, inclusive and equitable workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
