Resource Innovations
Resource Innovations is seeking a Proposal Lead to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be able to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment. As a Proposal Lead for Resource Innovations, you will: - Orchestrate the proposal development process from RFP release through contract award - Support proposal and business development efforts in close collaboration with subject matter experts and external partners - Write custom copy that reflects our corporate and winning proposal strategies - Participate in pre-sale and positioning activities - Lead post-submission activities, including finalist presentation development and responses to client clarification questions Proposal Lead Responsibilities: - Lead proposal development process from RFP receipt through submission, including owning and writing content for all sections and participating in post-submission activities in an entirely virtual environment, working collaboratively with subject matter experts, sales leads, and external partners - Develop and uphold the proposal development schedule - Write RFP-compliant proposal content that is persuasive, compelling, and supports strategies and win themes using the proposal content library and new content developed through interviews with subject matter experts - Collaborate with Business Development and Sales Operations to ensure accurate opportunity data is maintained in SharePoint and Salesforce - Follow internal capture planning, proposal development, and presentation development processes and procedures - Provide technical writing, editing, and/or proofreading as needed - Coordinate approvals for pricing and any exceptions or deviations from Resource Innovations’ standing operating procedures - Process complex technical information and create customized, persuasively written text/graphics for inclusion in a proposal - Coordinate proposal production and submission activities to ensure compliance with RFP/RFI requirements and instructions - Once the proposal is submitted, the Proposal Lead shall support: - Technical clarification responses - Proposal revisions as requested by the client - Archive appropriate content to the internal content library - Interview/presentation preparation, briefing slides, and presentation reviews and feedback - Transition to the launch team - Document all proposal lessons learned - Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, or related field OR 5+ years demonstrated and related experience in writing and editing large, complex proposals, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience leading proposal development efforts for complex, competitive RFPs/RFIs/RFQs/RFAs
- Experience with internet research, SharePoint, Salesforce, and advanced abilities in the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, matrixed proposal teams without direct authority
- Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Background in writing and communications for technical, service-oriented companies
- Knowledge of demand-side management, demand response, or other energy engineering and efficiency programs
- InDesign or other desktop publishing application
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience supporting capture planning, win theme development, and/or finalist interviews
- Experience working with proposal automation tools, content libraries, and/or AI-assisted drafting tools (e.g., Copilot, Loopio) is a plus

- Compensation & Benefits
- Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position. The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $75k - $110k. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.
