Posting Type Remote Job Overview The Vice President of Software Engineering & Technology Transformation is a senior engineering leader responsible for driving critical elements of Relativity’s technology transformation while ensuring high quality, predictable delivery across key platform and product domains. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will work closely with senior engineering and product leaders and Principal Engineers, translating architectural direction into reality, engaging directly in design reviews, developing and enforcing engineering standards at scale. This role will reshape how Relativity’s engineering organization operates in a cloud native, AI accelerated world. This is not a “run the org chart” role. It is a change leadership and leverage role—focused on advancing outcomes, engineering maturity, and technical clarity. Job Description and Requirements What You’ll Own Transformation Leadership - Lead major components of Relativity’s cloud native and architectural transformation, ensuring progress is measurable, sustained, and aligned to the CTO’s technology strategy. - Drive modernization of core systems supporting large scale SaaS workloads. - Act as a senior execution partner to the CTO, absorbing operational and organizational load so the organization can move faster. Engineering Oversight - Provide direct leadership, alignment, and accountability for Principal and Staff Engineers across product domain areas. Oversee multiple engineering teams responsible for critical platform and product capabilities. - Establish clear expectations for technical decision making, design quality, and cross-team influence at senior engineering levels. - Ensure principal level technical work is focused on the highest leverage problems: architecture, reliability, security, scale, and developer productivity. - Balance near term delivery with long term technical health—actively managing technical debt as a business risk - while also maintaining best in class customer experience. Operating Model & Standards - Drive consistent engineering standards across architecture, DevOps, observability, security, and SDLC practices. - Partner with SRE, Security, and Platform leaders to embed “built-in” reliability and security rather than bolted-on controls.‑ - Improve engineering operating rigor: planning, dependency management, decision clarity, and accountability. Cross-Functional Partnership - Work closely with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Customer teams to ensure technology decisions support customer trust, scale, and innovation. - Represent engineering initiatives clearly and credibly to executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders. - Partner with Engineering VP peers to define what the future of Relativity Engineering will look like - both the cloud-native architecture and the engineering culture. What Success Looks Like - Transformation initiatives move from ideation into owned and successfully operated multi-tenant systems. - Principal Engineers are aligned, impactful, and focused on the hardest problems. - Engineering teams operate with clearer objective standards, fewer surprises, and higher delivery confidence. - The CTO’s organization scales without increasing leadership bottlenecks. Qualifications Required - 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including senior leadership roles (Director, Senior Director, or VP) in SaaS or large‑scale software organizations. - Proven experience leading teams through technology or architectural transformation in complex environments. - Deep understanding of modern cloud architectures (Azure preferred), distributed systems, and SaaS operating models. - Strong track record working with Staff and Principal Engineers to drive architectural outcomes at scale. - Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity with a bias toward action and clarity. Preferred - Experience modernizing legacy platforms toward cloud native and service-oriented architectures. - Familiarity with AI enabled systems, data intensive platforms, or ML/GenAI integration in production environments. - Experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations. Location & Travel This role is remote, with a preference for Chicago. Travel—including international travel, is required to support global teams and transformation objectives. Why This Role Matters Relativity’s next phase of growth depends on engineering leverage, architectural discipline, and execution maturity. This role is central to making that real—bridging vision and reality, and ensuring the transformation endures. Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices. This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives. The expected salary range for this role is between following values: $240,000 and $360,000 The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Job Description ServiceNow's Digital Experience Strategy team operates at the intersection of product strategy and marketing—where you define what gets built and why. This is pure product strategy: vision, direction, and strategic thinking that shapes digital experiences for a global enterprise AI leader. ServiceNow launches innovation every month. You'll be the strategist who owns how we showcase these launches across our digital ecosystem—establishing what gets featured, how it's presented, and critically, what doesn't make the cut. You'll transform how we showcase products. You'll build frameworks and playbooks that enable Product Marketing to launch with speed, consistency, and quality. Responsibilities - Own horizontal launch strategy—establish how launches appear on the site and decision criteria for prominence - Guide Product Marketing on what to showcase, how to present it, and where it belongs on the site - Build reusable playbooks enabling consistent execution without reinventing each launch - Create frameworks that guide decisions on new content vs. refreshing existing pages, ensuring scalable, maintainable experiences - Lead strategy for key product visualizations and market-leading AI demos - Manage homepage strategy—determine what gets featured, what gets replaced, and how messaging evolves with each launch - Partner with Product Marketing, UX, Digital Product Managers, Engineering, Content Strategy, Copywriting and agency partners to align and execute strategies - Make strategic trade-offs based on business impact, buyer needs, and site integrity - Use analytics, research, and engagement metrics to validate and refine strategies What You Bring You're a product strategist who thinks holistically about customer journeys, business outcomes, and organizational dynamics. You're curious, dig into problems before jumping to solutions, and rally teams around a vision. You have an eye for great design and hold teams to high standards. You're collaborative but not afraid to push back when it matters. You're motivated by transformation—building new ways of working and launching exceptional experiences that drive results. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - 6+ years in product management, product strategy, or digital experience strategy at B2B SaaS or enterprise tech companies - Proven experience defining product strategy—the "what" and "why" that shapes direction - Experience with product launch announcements, digital broadcast events, or major digital moments - Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment - Data-driven decision maker using analytics, research, and metrics to guide strategy - Experience partnering with marketing teams on GTM strategy and campaigns Preferred Qualifications - UX background or training with strong design sensibility - Track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder product launches or digital events - Experience in marketing organizations - Familiarity with modern product visualization strategies in enterprise tech For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $126,800 - $221,900, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
