Job Description
Data Analyst, Agency
Trellis Technologies
This description is a summary of our understanding of the job description. Click on 'Apply' button to find out more. Role Description At Trellis, our Consumer Operations team is the heartbeat of the business. It’s a team of licensed insurance agents helping real people, in real time, find coverage. Every call, text, and quote directly impacts revenue. Right now, the data powering those decisions lags behind reality. We're hiring a Data Analyst, Agency to change that. This role sits at the intersection of business reality and data truth. You'll transform messy operational data into clarity, then translate that clarity into decisions that improve agent efficiency, revenue, and overall business health. This is a fully remote position, based in the US or Canada, and will report directly into Keith Schreer, VP of Data. What You'll Do - Partner with Consumer Operations leadership to define the metrics we use to run the business - Investigate unexpected performance changes, uncover root causes, and recommend our response — not just surface symptoms - Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and monitoring systems that surface issues before they become crises - Connect disparate data sources into a unified, trustworthy picture - Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-technical leaders - Help shift the organization from reactive to proactive through better data Qualifications - 3–5 years of analytics experience in a fast-paced or startup environment - Strong, hands-on SQL skills and fluency with analytics tools like Looker, dbt, or Tableau - Proven track record of delivering insights that change how a business operates - Experience building proactive monitoring systems and investigating performance trends - Strong cross-functional communication — you can make data make sense for anyone Requirements - This isn't a "build a dashboard and move on" role. You're someone who: - Doesn't trust a number until you've interrogated it - Spots when something feels "off" before anyone else does - Follows the thread from metric → behavior → outcome - Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and turns chaos into clarity - Gets energy from being close to how a business actually runs — and from seeing your work directly shape revenue Benefits - A transparent, collaborative culture where ideas win, not titles - Big opportunities to take ownership and chart your growth - Competitive compensation (75th+ percentile) - Fully remote across the US & Canada - Quarterly virtual and/or in-person events that keep us connected - Flexible vacation (yes, actually flexible) - 100% employer-paid health insurance for employees - Home office budget to create your perfect setup - Wellness programming, because balance matters - 401(k) and HSA contributions, FSAs, bonuses & equity opportunities - Paid parental leave
