Director of Data Analytics

Orcrist Technologies GmbH

• Contribute to the strategic development of the data function and its role within the company. • Actively support project acquisition and pre-sales activities, including: Shaping data-driven project proposals, Estimating scope, effort, and feasibility, Supporting pricing and delivery models. • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade fairs. • Build and maintain relationships with commercial clients and partners. • Bring in own clients and business opportunities where possible and take care of the current clients. • Ensure smooth handover from sales to delivery and maintain senior oversight throughout project execution. • Act as disciplinary and functional lead for the Data Analytics team. • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data professionals. • Monitor ongoing data projects, ensuring quality, delivery timelines, and alignment with business objectives. • Establish best practices, standards, and methodologies across data science, analytics, and modeling work. • Actively contribute hands-on to projects, especially in complex or high-impact phases. • Design and review data science solutions, architectures, and analytical approaches. • Support teams in translating business problems into robust data models and insights. • Ensure data quality, scalability, and sustainability of solutions. • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams. • Act as senior technical sparring partner for both internal stakeholders and clients.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior data leadership role (e.g. Head of Data, Lead Data Analyst, Data Analytics Manager).
  • Experience in business development, pre-sales, or client acquisition.
  • Strong background in data analytics with hands-on project experience.
  • Experience leading and mentoring data teams, including disciplinary responsibility.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership and strategic responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery in client-facing or commercial environments.
  • Confident, professional presence in client and public settings.
  • Strategic mindset combined with pragmatic execution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (C1+); German (B2+) is highly desirable.

Role Description The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical and pharmacy claims data to identify claims risk necessary to optimize the underwriting process. This position will also be responsible for creating and defining best practice standards for reviewing, analyzing and providing claims experience overview to the underwriters, nurses and management. - Prepare “Shock underwriting Summaries” - Review underwriting group reports to identify and extract data for individuals diagnosed with potentially catastrophic conditions. - Prepare “Shock underwriting Summary”, providing a sequential synopsis of each individual’s conditions and treatment (ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes), including the range of the dates of service, treatment provided (based on CPT codes), and corresponding costly drugs prescribed under medical and pharmacy plans. - Isolate and present data corresponding to individuals identified as representing potentially significant risk to Underwriting using ESL System. - Forward the Shock Claims Summary to underwriters and medical risk consultants for review as part of the stop-loss underwriting risk assessment process. - Review policy holder terms in ESL Office, such as spec level deductible and Stop Loss Contract type, that may impact risk selection. - Maintain a process for identifying potential specific claimants within each sold group's utilization data, collaborating with other key departments like Claims. - Interact with Underwriting, Sales, and MRCs to discuss significant risk findings on new and renewal business experience reports. - Lead as a resource for medical coding. - Work on special assignments, such as testing ESL application enhancements and conducting annual “laser project” analysis.
