The Director of Solutions Engineering is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational health of InvoiceCloud’s integration portfolio. This leader serves as the primary subject matter expert for integration architecture and engineering, working cross functionally with Product, Software Engineering, Sales, Alliances, and Services leadership. This is a hands on leadership role that blends technical depth with operational excellence and team development. The Director will build and scale a high performing Solutions Engineering organization that delivers repeatable, cloud native integrations to customers and technology partners in a scalable and cost effective manner. Mission and Why This Role Is Impactful Lead and scale a world class Solutions Engineering organization that designs, delivers, and supports secure, scalable, and repeatable integrations across cloud, on premise, and hybrid environments. Integration excellence is foundational to InvoiceCloud’s ability to scale. The Director of Solutions Engineering will directly impact revenue growth, partner expansion, operational efficiency, and customer experience. This role shapes how our platform connects to the broader ecosystem and ensures our technology strategy supports our long term vision. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership - Define and evolve the integration strategy aligned to company growth objectives. - Establish and maintain a scalable integration architecture framework that supports rapid partner expansion and product innovation. - Collaborate with the CTO, VP of Software Engineering, VP of Sales, VP of Alliances, and VP of Services to align roadmaps and release planning. - Identify opportunities to standardize, templatize, and productize integrations to improve margin and reduce implementation timelines. - Define and execute an AI strategy within Solutions Engineering that leverages automation, intelligent mapping, and generative tooling to accelerate integration discovery, design, and documentation while improving quality and consistency. - Identify and implement AI driven capabilities such as predictive integration scoping, anomaly detection, and performance optimization to improve delivery velocity, reduce defects, and enhance scalability across the integration portfolio. Integration Architecture and Delivery - Own the design, planning, and execution of integration initiatives across customers and partners. - Ensure best practices in API design, security, identity management, data exchange, and performance optimization. - Maintain technical governance standards that ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance across all integrations. - Partner with Product and Engineering to influence platform capabilities that enhance integration velocity and repeatability. Operational Excellence - Establish and continuously improve integration discovery, estimation, documentation, and deployment processes. - Develop metrics and reporting to track portfolio health, throughput, quality, and customer impact. - Ensure seamless transition from implementation to operational support with clear ownership and documentation. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across tools, processes, and methodologies. Team Leadership and Talent Development - Build, mentor, and retain a high performance Solutions Engineering team. - Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and transparency. - Recruit top engineering and technical services talent. - Provide hands on coaching and technical guidance where appropriate. - Develop succession planning and career growth paths within the organization. Cross Functional Partnership - Serve as the executive escalation point for complex integration challenges. - Collaborate with Sales and Alliances to support pre sales technical strategy for key partners. - Partner with Services and Conversions teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment. - Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Qualifications Experience - 10 or more years of engineering or technical services experience, with a strong record of delivering cloud based solutions. - At least 3 years of experience leading engineering or technical services teams. - Extensive experience integrating SaaS platforms across public cloud, on premise, and hybrid environments. - Demonstrated experience scaling integration portfolios in high growth environments. Technical Expertise - Deep expertise in REST, SOAP XML, ETL, identity management, OAuth, SAML, and secure API design. - Experience with at least one major public cloud provider. - Strong understanding of distributed systems, transactional databases, caching systems, and API frameworks. - Experience across compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and infrastructure security domains. - Solid grounding in security best practices and compliance requirements. - Experience in financial systems, payments, banking, or regulated enterprise SaaS environments preferred. Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition.
