Role Description The Sr. Project Developer – State and Local Government (SLG) focused will manage the development of Energy Efficiency projects in support of the Veregy sales teams that focus on selling to state and local government. - Perform or supervise energy audits, energy modeling, measurement, verification, or retro-commissioning studies. - Provide guidance and leadership to junior staff. - Present to a variety of audiences. - Lead energy-related design or construction issues, such as energy engineering, energy management, or sustainable design. - Analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy data, using engineering software. - Attend relevant internal and external technical meetings and design reviews. - Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. - Advise clients and colleagues on topics such as climate control systems, energy modeling, data logging, sustainable design, or energy auditing. - Participate in reviewing architecture, mechanical, or electrical plans or specifications to evaluate energy efficiency. - Ensure effective communication with clients, third parties, and colleagues throughout the project life cycle. - Prepare energy-related project reports, like PFA and IGA and technical documentation in compliance with approved specifications and industry standards. - Research the newest information in renewable or alternative energy systems or technologies. - Support the sales teams and will involve extensive collaboration between both internal team members and customers. - Assist sales with funding sources and procurement paths. - Track activities and action items of projects within internal tracking platforms and ensure project deliverables meet deadlines. - Perform preliminary project site walks to identify EEMs and provide a unique solution customized to customer needs. - Provide technical expertise during sales’ presentations and meetings with customers. - Coordinate with customer representatives and utilities to gather billing and energy data to develop energy utility analyses to qualify project feasibility. - Innovate new ways to expand on and improve the development process through consistent communication with peers and other stakeholders. - Participate in sales and industry conferences, events, and customer interactions. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields like Construction Science, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Experience with measures common in state and local government including water meter automated metering, wastewater treatment, water treatment, street lighting is required. - Two (2) years of experience in project development, more experience is required for more senior roles required. - Two (2) years of Energy Engineering experience desired. - One (1) year of experience in the following computer applications: MS Project, Microsoft Office applications, RS Means estimating, and any other company standard software preferred. - A track record of establishing and maintaining development and construction budgets as demonstrated by two verifiable references who will be contacted required. - Demonstrated success in working effectively with subcontractor market and A/E teams as shown by two verifiable references who will be contacted required. Requirements - Ability to quickly qualify project feasibility based on energy savings, project paybacks, customer needs, and applicable procurement and funding methods. - Ability to be customer-facing & a technical expert and the driver behind developing quality projects. - Ability to meet with customers and clearly communicate our process for working together. - Ability to guide salespeople on relaying project specifics to customers in cases where delays or complications may arise. - Ability to coordinate with sales team to develop project pricing and cashflow analyses. - Ability to take a leadership role on estimating projects from start to finish as shown by two verifiable references who will be contacted. - Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time/workload. - Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with changing or competing priorities. - Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge. - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. - Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed. Travel Requirement - This role is remote based in Southern California, but will require approximately 20% travel primarily in Southern California. Job Requirements
