Job Description

Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) Facilitator

TTRO

Role Description This is a remote position. TTRO is looking for an experienced Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) Facilitator to deliver our BBS workshop suite (Levels I, II and III) to client teams, primarily in the Mining and Energy sectors. This is an Independent Contractor engagement, with workshops delivered on client sites across our regions of operation. This is not a lecturing role. We want a true facilitator — someone who can hold a room, drive real engagement, and turn technical safety content into conversations that shift behaviour on the ground. What You’ll Do - Deliver BBS Level I, II and III workshops to diverse groups, from frontline workforce through to supervisory and leadership levels. - Facilitate interactive, discussion-driven sessions — not slide-led lectures — using case studies, group activities and real workplace scenarios. - Adapt your delivery style and content emphasis to different audiences, sites and safety cultures. - Create a psychologically safe, participative environment where delegates engage openly on safety behaviours and habits. - Travel to client sites, including international sites, as required by the programme schedule. Engagement Details - Contract type: Independent Contractor - Delivery levels: BBS Level I, II and III - Sector focus: Mining / Energy (preferred); other high-risk industrial sectors considered - Travel: Local and international site travel required How to Apply - A current CV / facilitator profile, highlighting BBS and safety-related facilitation experience. - Details of sector experience (Mining / Energy / Oil & Gas / Manufacturing preferred). - Confirmation of Independent Contractor status and availability for travel. Requirements - Proven facilitation experience — confident holding a room, managing group dynamics, and driving two-way dialogue (facilitator, not lecturer). - Working knowledge of Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) methodology and principles. - Hands-on experience delivering safety or behavioural content to frontline and supervisory audiences. - Strong communication and articulation — clear, engaging and credible in front of a room. - Comfortable delivering across all three levels of a structured, multi-tier programme (BBS Level I, II and III). - Willingness and ability to travel to client sites, including international travel. - Independent Contractor status / own registered business (or willingness to formalise this). Advantageous - Facilitation experience in Mining, Energy, Oil & Gas or comparable high-risk industrial / manufacturing sectors. - Recognised occupational health & safety qualification (e.g. SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent). - Accreditation as a Facilitator / Assessor (e.g. ETDP SETA / SAQA) or equivalent adult-learning credential. - Prior delivery of a recognised BBS programme. Experience Level - 5+ years facilitating in high-risk industrial environments (preferred).
