About the Role WISEcode is a food tech AI company building the world’s most comprehensive food data platform. As an Applied Computational Nutrition Scientist, you are a model builder. You will use our proprietary Code Builder to explore structures, refine assumptions, and shape the behavior of the system that serves as the "Bloomberg for Food." The Applied Computational Nutrition Scientist role represents a fundamental shift in food science: moving away from linear hand-offs between scientists and engineers toward an interactive, rapid modeling loop. The role reports directly to the VP of Science. What You’ll Do - Scientific Modeling: Design, build, and iterate nutrition codes within our AI-based platform. You will manage the full " interactive modeling loop" : Hypothesis →Build→ Evaluate→ Refine. - Logic Architecture: Transition raw food data into structured, interpretable intelligence by exploring model structures, identifying edge cases, and refining scoring assumptions. - Library Governance: Own the integrity of the Code Library as a strategic asset. • Building and evolving rich, data-driven Blazor UIs that power Code Builder’s workflows • Implementing features that combine deterministic nutrition logic with AI-assisted insights • Working with complex domain models representing foods, ingredients, nutrients, processing, and health signals • Extending ASP.NET APIs and services that execute and orchestrate nutrition computations at scale • Integrating AI outputs responsibly into user-facing and internal workflows • Navigating and improving a large, long-lived production codebase • Debugging and optimizing behavior across UI, application logic, and database boundaries

• Translate product ideas, domain concepts, and company vision into durable data models, computation layers, and system contracts that preserve meaning as the platform grows. • Design and evolve foundational data systems end-to-end and hand them off once patterns are established, documented, and safely extensible by other teams. • Guide teams through decisions on data modeling, schema evolution, performance tradeoffs, correctness, observability, AI integration, and scale. • Influence without authority - shaping engineering culture, mentoring senior engineers, and raising the organizational bar through architectural clarity and principled decision-making. • Partner closely with product, CTO, AI/ML, and engineering teams to shape roadmap feasibility and long-term platform direction.
