The DXO is a frontline fundraiser who will use fundraising techniques to build donor relationships and has a strong desire to work towards becoming an expert level fundraiser. This is an entry-level role meant to provide a pathway for a successful career in fundraising and relationship management. This position is responsible for qualifying and disqualifying new prospects, building positive relationships with existing donors in their portfolio and growing philanthropic support for the University. While the main focus of the DXO is to secure gifts in the $5K-$25K range, this position could also work on securing gifts at $25K and above in collaboration with a more senior development officer. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Portfolio Management and Donor Engagement - Build relationships with a hand-selected portfolio of 1,000 individual prospects capable of making gifts of $5,000+, focusing on several schools, colleges and units. - Focus on employing digital tools to interact with donors, but there will also be opportunities for in-person meetings. - Connect with constituents through phone, email, mail, local in-person meetings, Zoom meetings, LinkedIn, ThankView videos, and other industry communication tactics. - Solicit and close gifts up to $25,000, while working with campus teams on plans, strategies, and major gift referrals. - Work with prospect research and management teams to update, adjust, and maintain the donor portfolio. This tenure track faculty position serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Federal Depository Library Program for government documents and leads collection development for the State of Colorado government collections, the United Nations Collection, and international government documents. As the FDLP Regional Coordinator, this position will collaborate with the government documents community in the State of Colorado, work closely with collection staff to ensure access to the government documents collection, advise selective FDLP libraries on FDLP collection work, and ensure federal policy is followed. They also provide instruction, reference support, consultations, and outreach for Federal, State, and Local government collections. The librarian in this position is responsible for staying informed about changes in government information, particularly with respect to emerging technologies, trends in government information publishing, and Federal Depository Library policy and law. This is a collaborative position that works closely with other Libraries faculty and staff to promote a culture of assessment and user engagement with government information from the CU community and the public. This position may also serve as a subject liaison for assigned academic departments. What We Can Offer What We Can Offer The successful candidate will be appointed as a full-time (12-month) tenure track faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. The starting salary range for Assistant Professor is $73,000-$84,000. A candidate that meets the University and Libraries criteria for hire with tenure may be eligible for the rank of Associate Professor with a starting salary range of $80,000-$90,000. A candidate with a career of excellence and significant growth, development, and accomplishment post-tenure may be eligible for the rank of Full Professor with a starting salary range of $95,000-$105,000. Relocation assistance may be available within University Libraries guidelines. Faculty receive limited professional development funds annually. Licensing Associates will work with the licensing team to evaluate, advance, partner and commercialize a portfolio of the University's most promising intellectual property in the life sciences, including therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health. Licensing Associates will work with the licensing team and Fellows to develop marketing strategies, identify potential licensees, and foster relationships with companies in order to partner and commercialize University assets. Licensing Associates will work closely with more senior members of the licensing team as they develop their skills in working with inventors to understand technologies, communicating with outside counsel to assess patentability, and collaborating with colleagues in industry during partnering discussions. Licensing Associates will work with senior members of the licensing team to build portfolio commercialization skills. This includes understanding & assessing the intellectual assets developed in a faculty member's lab and encouraging disclosure of new ideas, inventions & other intellectual assets to Innovations. With the support of senior licensing team members, Licensing Associates will assess new inventions for technical merit, patentability, and commercial feasibility, while overseeing the filing & prosecution of patent applications where appropriate and identifying & communicating with potential licensees. The Licensing Associate, with mentoring from senior licensing team members, will learn how to market technologies to industry, negotiate, draft, and enforce options, licenses, IIAs, CDAs and other agreements. As Licensing Associates develop these skills, they are expected to begin to maintain their own technology portfolio and work more independently as they progress. The position requires the use of a variety of communications and computer database tools to track, convey issues, and decisions about invention disclosures, patent applications, patent prosecution, patent issuance and maintenance. Key Responsibilities: - The primary function is to assist in the management of university intellectual property in the life sciences disciplines and advance to managing their own portfolio of university intellectual property, which includes the following tasks. - Understand and assess the intellectual assets in a faculty member's lab, whether patentable or not, encouraging disclosure of new ideas, inventions and other intellectual assets to TTO. - Evaluate and analyze new invention disclosures for technical merit, meet with inventor(s), assess patentability, marketability, commercial feasibility and identify relevant industry contacts. - Encourage the commercialization of innovation through multiple channels including industry collaborations, licensing or the formation of start-up companies. . - Develop licensing strategies, identify potential licensees, negotiate terms, draft agreements, and close deals. - Manage patent-related activities, including the filing and prosecution of patent applications. - Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Licensing.
