• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services in a distributed system environment (99% backend work). • Develop software solutions using C#, C++, and MS SQL/PostgreSQL. • Collaborate on UI development as needed to support service integration and functionality. • Build, deploy, and manage applications using AWS resources, with a focus on: EC2 / ECS for compute environments, Lambdas for serverless processing, SQS and SNS for messaging and event-driven architecture. • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional team meetings to ensure software quality and scalability. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in coding standards, system reliability, and automation.
• Own workflow & execution • Serve as the primary owner of marketing and creative workflows across channels (paid media, CRM, product pages, lifecycle, etc.) • Ensure work is clearly defined, prioritized, and moving efficiently from request through delivery • Track projects end-to-end, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and removing roadblocks • Improve and scale how work gets done • Identify inefficiencies and simplify how teams operate with an aim to reducing friction, clarifying inputs, and improving structure • Build & refine workflows, templates, and processes that are easy to use and scalable • Continuously improve how work flows across teams • Drive automation and operational efficiency • Implement workflow automations across intake, routing, approvals, and status tracking • Reduce manual coordination and repetitive work so teams can focus on higher-value output • Apply AI in practical ways • Identify opportunities to use AI to save time and improve output (brief creation, task generation, QA, reporting) • Integrate AI tools into real workflows to support day-to-day execution • Stay current on emerging tools and bring forward practical applications • Coordinate stakeholders and support key initiatives • Build strong relationships across marketing, creative, product, legal, and leadership teams • Ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and expectations across stakeholders • Help coordinate campaigns, product launches, and cross-functional programs to ensure on-time delivery
• Define and own the product vision and roadmap for Drake Desktop • Balance innovation with platform stability and reliability • Identify opportunities to improve core workflows and customer value • Lead planning and execution of annual tax law updates • Partner with compliance and tax content teams to implement federal and state changes accurately and on time • Prioritize features and enhancements within fixed regulatory deadlines • Ensure product readiness and performance during peak tax season • Improve preparer workflows including return preparation, review, and electronic filing • Use customer insights and data to drive measurable improvements • Partner with engineering on performance, architecture, and technical priorities • Collaborate with support, sales, and go to market teams • Communicate priorities and trade offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership
• Design Quality & Craft: Define user experiences and interfaces for product prototypes in keeping with industry standards and best practices • Translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences and strategies across complex, multi-touchpoint journeys • Create user journeys, user flows, and interactive prototypes across multiple customer journeys and interfaces • Ability to use vibe coding tools to communicate in code while establishing patterns and best practices • AI-enabled Product Design: Define the organization’s approach to designing AI-powered products and features, establishing frameworks, patterns, and principles that guide how AI is experienced by users • Design innovative product features that leverage generative AI to transform how users discover, complete, and engage with tax filing • Establish design principles and interaction patterns for AI-native experiences that scale across multiple surfaces and products. • Strategy & Influence: Advise senior leaders on design initiatives, strategies, and the strategic role of AI in the product experience • Lead the development of product design best practices, templates, and trainings to increase design knowledge and standards for the organization, with a focus on AI-native design methodologies • Define metrics to manage and measure design success and prioritize enhancements. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, engineering, and data to shape product roadmaps and prioritize features • Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape the company’s AI product strategy and roadmap. • Storytelling & Communication: Develop and communicate product vision through storytelling, high-fidelity prototypes, and working software to leadership and cross-functional partners • Excel at delivering compelling and impactful presentations, setting the example for how to use storytelling to influence and persuade others. • Mentorship & Organizational Development: Collaborate with leadership to support team member development, including AI skill-building across the design organization • Mentor and elevate design quality across the team through design reviews, feedback, and craft leadership • Build and facilitate AI design training programs that upskill the entire design team • AI Fluency Expectations: For this role, we expect a transformative level of AI competency to help re-engineer how work happens. • You will shape new ways of building products and can show examples of redesigning how products ship. • You don’t just use AI, you fundamentally rethink how the design discipline operates in an AI-native world. • You abandon the status quo when it no longer serves, and you lead others through that transformation with conviction and clarity. • Define the vision for how AI transforms the design practice at Taxwell, from tools and workflows to the products we build for customers. • Evaluate emerging AI capabilities (LLMs, multimodal models, agentic AI) and translate them into actionable product and design opportunities. • Lead cross-functional initiatives that create competitive differentiation. • Build systems, not one-off features, pipelines and agent-driven workflows that take in customer feedback, generate specs, prototype solutions, and ship. • Build and facilitate AI training programs that upskill the entire design team. • Lead new ways of building product, such as unlocking designers to ship code in production. • Establish organizational quality standards for AI-augmented work. • Define guardrails for AI-powered experiences that balance innovation with user trust and ethical considerations. • Own the outcomes at the organizational level, not just your own work, but the quality bar for how AI is used across the design team and larger organization.

Position Overview The Education Media Specialist is responsible for developing modern, multimedia educational content that supports product adoption, customer success, and expanded engagement across digital platforms. This role transforms existing training materials—such as webinars, courses, and documentation—into engaging digital media assets while also supporting the enhancement of structured online learning programs as needed. Content may range from short instructional clips to structured product walkthroughs, interactive modules, and training programs. The ideal candidate combines instructional clarity with strong multimedia production skills and works efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Multimedia Content Production - Review and extract key insights from existing educational materials (webinars, courses, documentation, knowledge base articles). - Script, record, and edit instructional videos and multimedia content, including feature highlights, product walkthroughs, structured training segments, and audio-based formats as needed. - Produce both short-form instructional content (30–120 seconds) and longer, structured training videos. - Create visually engaging content using screen capture, graphics, captions, motion elements, and audio components. - Leverage AI tools to enhance scripting, captioning, editing efficiency, and content optimization while maintaining instructional quality and accuracy. - Break down longer materials into organized, digestible segments. - Ensure clarity, pacing, and strong instructional flow across all formats. - Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and educational standards. - Develop repeatable templates and workflows to support efficient and scalable production. Course & Learning Enhancement - Support the development and enhancement of interactive online courses using tools such as Adobe Captivate or similar platforms. - Improve the structure, flow, and learner engagement of existing CE and online course materials. - Incorporate multimedia elements into interactive courses to strengthen learning impact. Digital Strategy & Optimization - Identify opportunities to modernize and expand existing education content through digital and multimedia assets. - Transform long-form training into structured micro-learning formats where appropriate. - Monitor engagement metrics and audience feedback to refine content structure and delivery. - Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with product updates. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support visibility, discoverability, and platform optimization efforts. - Support the continued growth of digital learning initiatives across internal and external platforms. - Stay current with trends in digital learning, multimedia production, and content engagement. - Balance production speed with high-quality output and continuous improvement. Additional Responsibilities - Contribute to the development and delivery of education products across formats as business needs evolve. - Support related initiatives and perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the Education team’s goals. Required Skills & Qualifications - Experience in video production, digital content creation, instructional media, or related field. - Demonstrated experience creating short-form video content. - Proficiency with video editing tools (e.g., Camtasia, Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, or similar). - Experience with audio recording and editing tools is a plus. - Familiarity with Adobe Captivate or similar eLearning authoring tools is preferred. - Strong scripting and written communication skills. - Ability to distill complex information into concise, engaging messaging. - Self-motivated with strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. - Comfortable working independently and iterating quickly. Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with educational or training content. - Familiarity with tax, accounting, or software-based products. - Experience optimizing content for digital or social media platforms. - Graphic design or motion graphics experience. - Basic understanding of instructional design principles. • Prospect & Qualify Leads: Conduct research to identify potential clients and key decision-makers in target markets. • Utilize various channels (cold calling, email campaigns, social media, etc.) to generate and qualify leads. • Connect & Consult: Initiate first contact with potential clients to understand their business needs and challenges. • Clearly communicate how Drake Software’s solutions can provide tailored benefits and resolve specific pain points. • Uncover and identify pain points to understand the needs of the prospective customer’s business • Lead Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all lead interactions and follow-ups in the CRM system. • Manage and nurture leads through the sales funnel to schedule appointments, demos for the sales team and warm transfers. • Adhere to lead cadence and follow best practices. • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies and campaigns. • Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to refine product positioning and outreach tactics. • Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for lead generation, qualification, and appointment setting. • Continuously track performance and identify areas for improvement to achieve business development goals.
