• Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and performance of TaxAct, Drake, and 1040.com websites • Define and prioritize initiatives that improve customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention • Establish website KPIs and measure success against business objectives • Drive continuous improvements to website navigation, content experiences, site performance, accessibility, and user journeys • Identify market opportunities through customer research, analytics, industry trends, and competitive analysis • Lead A/B testing, personalization, landing page optimization, and funnel enhancement initiatives • Partner with Marketing, SEO, Content, and Engineering teams to improve content workflows and operational efficiency • Own the end-to-end ecommerce funnel and conversion strategy across digital properties • Leverage analytics, customer insights, and experimentation to identify conversion opportunities and customer friction points • Define product requirements, user stories, success metrics, and acceptance criteria • Lead cross-functional teams through discovery, planning, development, launch, and optimization
• Develop high-quality and accurate tax content • Integrate the information into the TaxAct software • Research and implement fairly complex Federal and State tax laws into the software • Write or design “plain talk” interview questions for user guidance • Write and review test case scenarios for accuracy • Influence and communicate clearly within the team and across functions • Partner with forms developers and IRS/State agencies for timely certifications • Mentor newer tax analysts that join the team
• Design and implement scalable Contentful architectures • Define content modeling best practices • Manage environments, roles, permissions, and CI/CD pipelines • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements
• Prepare and review commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, software licenses, and technology and media services agreements • Advise on applicable data privacy and emerging technologies (including AI) laws, including applicable state laws, and provide related input on business projects • Assist with the review and negotiation of data protection and data processing agreements • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of training materials, document templates, internal policies, and resource documents for both businesses • Work with the marketing and product teams to review marketing, sales, and promotional materials and product design for compliance with legal requirements • Proactively identify legal and regulatory trends, research legal issues, and provide related advice • Collaborate with various teams to identify legal issues and assist the Taxwell organization in business development initiatives • Develop a thorough understanding of Drake Software and TaxAct’s businesses, including TaxAct Professional and 1040.com, strategies, external commercial marketplace, and regulatory environment • Analyze and formulate various strategies in a way that supports the business objectives while identifying and mitigating legal risk • Willingness to work with emerging technologies and identify and mitigate legal risk and compliance federal and state laws • Work closely with the Taxwell Procurement; Infosec; and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams • Work closely with and be the primary liaison to the Taxwell Business Development team
• Champion a customer- and partner-first approach to building intuitive, intelligent, and compliant document processing and data ingestion solutions that power both consumer (B2C) and professional (B2B) tax experiences. • Establish and evangelize a clear product vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes for Taxwell’s Document Intelligence Platform • Communicate product direction, priorities, and impact with clarity and influence across teams, executives, and stakeholders. • Lead ideation, experimentation, and delivery of next-generation document workflows, improving efficiency for tax preparers, accuracy for taxpayers, and scalability across products. • Own and continuously evolve the platform roadmap, balancing innovation with reliability, and ensuring alignment with business, technology, and compliance goals. • Leverage customer feedback, data analytics, and market insights to identify opportunities that reduce friction, increase automation, and elevate the quality of document-derived data. • Monitor and act on emerging trends in AI, OCR, and data exchange standards that shape the future of document intelligence in tax and financial ecosystems. • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI, AI/ML, compliance, and product partners to deliver secure, seamless, and high-performing end-to-end solutions. • Partner with legal, data privacy, and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to all compliance standards and responsible AI practices. • Serve as a thought leader in intelligent document processing, helping define Taxwell’s strategy for how tax data is captured, understood, and leveraged across B2C and B2B experiences.
• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of critical capabilities across Drake Tax Online • Drive consistency and quality across services, APIs, user experiences, and shared platform components • Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate complex problems into scalable solutions • Identify, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies including AI-assisted development tools • Act as a technical lead for high-impact initiatives across multiple teams • Provide technical leadership in ambiguous situations and mentor engineering leaders • Raise the effectiveness of the broader engineering organization by identifying opportunities to simplify systems and improve workflows • Demonstrate effective AI-assisted software engineering in practice • Identify opportunities to use AI to improve engineering effectiveness across the software development lifecycle
• Own the architecture, design, delivery, and evolution of the TaxAct mobile application across iOS and Android. • Lead mobile capabilities including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, device integrations, performance, and app store operations. • Define the appropriate balance between native mobile and web-based experiences. • Drive platform quality, reliability, security, and maintainability. • Evaluate emerging technologies and modernize the mobile platform where appropriate. • Act as the technical lead for mobile initiatives across engineering, product, design, security, and platform teams. • Operate independently to identify opportunities, define solutions, and drive execution. • Build prototypes, evaluate technologies, and solve complex technical problems. • Advise stakeholders on mobile architecture, platform capabilities, user experience, release strategy, and operational excellence.
