Role Description Editors at Stukent are talented and detail-oriented members of a dynamic Content Production Team. They are highly motivated, accountable, adaptable, and collaborative individuals who are passionate about education, committed to living the Stukent Core Values, and excited to create market-leading content that furthers Stukent’s mission to help educators help students help the world. - Coordinate with courseware authors, peer reviewers, Simternship teams, and others to manage submissions and feedback on a variety of editing tasks and ensure pedagogical soundness and alignment with project-specific learning objectives and course outcomes. - Provide comprehensive developmental editing and copyediting for all Stukent product offerings, including (but not limited to) courseware and associated resources, Simternships, website content, product catalogs, marketing materials, and other customer-facing materials as assigned by your manager. - Assist in the ongoing maintenance of existing products by participating in Edit Requests, Permissions Audits, ADA Compliance Checks, Content Mapping, Courseware Consistency Checks, Annual Updates, and other projects as needed. - Use AI to generate and edit a wide variety of content, including assignments, quizzes, test banks, lecture slides, and more. - Communicate progress clearly and effectively to authors, team members, and team leadership. - Participate fully in training meetings and other team-building activities. - Support process improvement initiatives and respond to feedback and coaching with a growth mindset. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emergent technologies in editing, education, and instructional design. - Work reliably and productively in a hybrid or remote environment. - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Editing, Communication, or Education (especially curriculum development and instruction) preferred. - Minimum of 3 years of professional editing experience. - Experience editing educational materials preferred. Requirements - Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with demonstrated project management and organizational skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in writing and editing using both Google and Microsoft suites. - Demonstrated experience with generating and editing content using AI solutions, tools, and platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, and others. - Strong understanding of AP style. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. - Growth mindset and willingness to adapt quickly to shifts in assignments and priorities. Role Description The Updates Editor, the primary owner of updates implementation and QA, maintains the currency, accuracy, and accessibility of Stukent courseware by planning and executing the revision (courseware updates) process for assigned titles year over year. This role collaborates closely with authors, instructional teams, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality, student-ready content on schedule. Location: While this role is open to remote candidates in states where we operate, preference will be given to applicants based in Utah, Idaho, and Kentucky. Typical Job Duties - Edits and proofreads courseware and related resources to meet established quality standards for clarity, consistency, and correctness. - Implements and validates author-provided revisions and internal change requests in the designated locations, maintaining accurate version control and document history. - Ensures deliverables meet accessibility, instructional design, and copyright requirements. - Plans and manages multiple concurrent update projects, meeting interim milestones and final deadlines with minimal rework. - Maintains accurate and timely status updates in designated tracker systems. - Coordinates with authors and internal stakeholders to obtain required inputs, clarify questions, and resolve issues that could delay delivery. - Identifies risks and roadblocks early; communicates impacts, options, and recommended next steps to the Updates Manager. - Applies approved tools (including AI-assisted editing tools) to support efficiency and consistency while following company policy and data-handling guidelines. - Prepares handoff-ready files for downstream teams (e.g., design and video) and responds to feedback or corrections as needed. - Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Note: The Updates Editor performs these essential functions on an ongoing basis, with workload varying by update season and project deadlines. Performance is evaluated based on quality, timeliness, accessibility compliance, and accuracy of project tracking and reporting. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience working as an editor or in a related field. Project management or business writing would also qualify. - Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. - Strong command of the English language, at least one editorial style (Chicago, AP, MLA, or APA), and accessibility standards. - Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and author management. - Proficiency in content management systems, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office Suite. Description Location: While this role is open to remote candidates in states where we operate, preference will be given to applicants based in Utah, Idaho, and Kentucky. The Role As a Senior Product Designer at Stukent, you'll be a key contributor to shaping how students and instructors experience our platform. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to lead design from early discovery through to polished delivery, bringing clarity to complex problems and crafting experiences that are both beautiful and functional. How We Work Stukent's Product Technology organization is composed of multiple highly-empowered teams. Each team operates with its own Product Manager, Product Designer, and Software Engineers. Designers have real ownership and a direct seat at the table alongside engineering and product from day one. We follow agile methodology, with tight feedback loops and collaborative sprint cycles. This role reports to the Director of Product Design. Our design team is actively working to converge our product surfaces into a unified design system. There is a meaningful foundation in place, and this role will play a significant part in shaping and maturing that system going forward. What You'll Do - Own the end-to-end design process, from research, user flows, and wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes and production-ready specs. - Partner closely with product managers and engineers throughout discovery and delivery to ensure design intent is realized in the final product. - Contribute to and help evolve Stukent's design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across all product surfaces. - Design for Accessibility from the start, championing inclusive design and aligning all work to WCAG standards. - Communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, and confidently advocate for user needs in product discussions. - Identify UX debt and systemic design opportunities, and help prioritize and address them strategically. - Mentor and provide thoughtful feedback to other designers on the team, helping to raise the overall quality of design work. - Balance speed with craft, knowing when to move fast and when to slow down and get it right. Requirements Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in a Product Design, UX Design, or equivalent role. - Proven ability to work autonomously across the full design lifecycle, from research to implementation. - Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, and maintaining design system consistency. - A strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving, clean visual design skills, and measurable business and user impact. - Solid working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and a track record of creating inclusive, compliant product experiences. Typical Job Duties - Deliver end-to-end features and platform capabilities by translating requirements into functional, high-quality code. - Design and implement solutions for complex, cross-domain challenges, ensuring seamless and reliable system integration.. - Multiply engineering impact by developing shared libraries, frameworks, and internal tools used across teams. - Drive long-term technical health by identifying and prioritizing the retirement of legacy architecture in favor of modern, sustainable patterns. - Establish engineering standards by creating documentation and architectural blueprints that guide development. . - Promote continuous improvement by introducing modern methodologies and industry best practices that keep the organization at the forefront of technology. - Provision and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance. - Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules that enable teams to provision their own resources while adhering to organizational guardrails. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - 5-8+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of cross-team technical leadership. - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js - Proficiency in GraphQL - Proficiency in React web application frameworks - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - Hands-on experience provisioning and optimizing cloud infrastructure via infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation - Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and lead technical discussions that result in high-quality architectural outcomes. - Proven expertise in architecting and optimizing high-performance CI/CD pipelines as code across multiple teams using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab to increase organizational delivery velocity. - Exceptional ability to navigate high-ambiguity technical challenges and provide clear, actionable solutions. - Experience with C# is preferred - Experience in EdTech industry is preferred - Cloud Certification(s) in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services is preferred - Experience developing ADA compliant user experiences is preferred Compensation, Benefits, & Perks: Stukent is committed to providing competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that supports the well-being of our team members.
