• Involved in the day-to-day operations of the payroll and CIS service, ensuring efficient workflow management and adherence to deadlines. • Utilise advanced payroll software to maintain accurate client pay records and process weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payrolls. • Apply expert knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations to calculate and reconcile statutory deductions, including income tax, national insurance, pensions, SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP, and CIS deductions. • Handle complex payroll queries and issues, conducting thorough investigations and providing effective resolutions in a timely manner. • Involved in the preparation and submission of statutory payroll and CIS returns, including FPS, EPS, and CIS300. • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information. • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including partners and other departments, to ensure alignment of payroll and CIS processes with overall business objectives. • Stay up to date on changes in payroll legislation and industry best practices, proactively implementing necessary updates and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Outbound Sales & Lead Generation • Cleanse and build target lists by sector, size, and persona. • Conduct high‑volume cold calling to open conversations and book meetings. • Follow structured phone + email cadences with basic personalisation. • Qualify leads (need, authority, timing, fit) and hand over cleanly. • Confirm meeting logistics and complete pre‑call briefs. • Log all calls, notes, and data accurately in HubSpot. • Nurture older leads and reactivate prospects. • Research sector or service line specific opportunities, such as property service charges or changes in Making Tax Digital reporting to suggest targeted outbound campaigns. • Filter, triage, and respond to inbound web enquiries, ensuring timely follow‑up and directing genuine opportunities to the appropriate colleague. • Enrich and validate target list data using online research, LinkedIn, Companies House and company sources to improve accuracy, segmentation, and conversion rates. • Maintain CRM data quality, including updating records, completing missing fields, and managing duplicates to ensure sales visibility. • Track simple pipeline and activity metrics, including meetings booked, show rates, lead progress, and ageing—highlighting risks or gaps proactively. • Support the preparation and execution of outbound campaigns, including organising segmented lead lists and updating activity reports. • Assist with post‑meeting admin, such as updating deal stages, confirming attendance, and ensuring smooth handover to senior colleagues. • Monitor warm leads and inbound channels (web forms, referrals, email enquiries), ensuring nothing is missed and responses are managed in a timely manner.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, including racehorse trainers, breeders, and equestrian businesses, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and tax returns. • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, including those operating in racing, breeding, and equine services. • Attend client meetings, often on-site at stud farms, training yards, or racecourses, to build strong relationships and provide tailored financial advice. • Oversee and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and supporting their development. • Prepare and review VAT returns, tax computations, and advisory schedules, with a focus on agricultural and equine tax planning.

• Proactively identify and generate audit and accounts opportunities through structured outbound calling and follow up. • Manage inbound inquiries, follow up on marketing leads, and schedule discovery calls for the relevant audit and accounts team. • Build relationships with CFOs, finance directors, and business owners through consultative conversations. • Maintain accurate records in the CRM (e.g., HubSpot or similar) and manage a steady pipeline of prospects. • Collaborate with the UK audit and accounts teams to align lead generation with service delivery capacity. • Meet and exceed monthly KPIs for outreach, qualified meetings, and conversions. • Stay informed on industry trends as well as audit and accounting standard changes. • Own HubSpot as the firm’s front end CRM for audit and accounts BD. • Track meetings booked, show rates and downstream outcomes to assess lead quality. • Provide basic pipeline visibility to Partners and regional leadership. • Work closely with local offices and Partners to: Understand capacity and target client profiles. Align outreach with office level priorities. Improve quality of meetings over time through feedback. Ensure all meetings are handed over with sufficient background to allow Partners to run an effective first meeting. Act as a central coordination point, reducing random or misdirected enquiries landing on Partners.
• Support the tax team with the preparation of Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts. • Manage client information, ensuring all relevant documentation is received, organised, and stored securely. • Preparation of rental accounts. • Prepare draft tax return packs and client correspondence. • Assist with submitting returns to HMRC via the firm’s tax software. • Assisting with compliance for HMRC’s new ‘Making Tax Digital for Income Tax’ regime • Check individuals employment benefits and PAYE coding notices • Liaise with clients on their personal tax position and advising on payments due. • Preparation of 60-day UK Property Returns • Act as a first point of contact for clients regarding basic administrative queries. • Collect client authorisations (64-8/Agent Services), and maintain up‑to‑date client records. • Chase clients for outstanding information in a professional and timely manner. • Monitor HMRC deadlines and ensure compliance timetables are met. • Assist with HMRC queries, tracking responses and maintaining communication logs. • Request and review HMRC statements of account where required. • Manage diaries and key tax-year deadlines, including UK filing deadlines and payment reminders. • Support the wider tax team with general administrative tasks as required.
