Senior Operations Manager – ICQA

Role Description The Senior Operations Manager – ICQA will lead regional execution of Stord’s network-wide ICQA and Quality programs. This role ensures compliance with company inventory control standards, drives data accuracy, and partners with site leadership to identify and eliminate root causes of inventory and process errors. The position serves as the operational extension of the Director of ICQA, accountable for inventory health, shrink performance, and audit adherence across multiple facilities in their assigned region. Key Responsibilities - Program Execution & Oversight - Oversee all ICQA activities (cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, investigations, reconciliations, projects) for the assigned region. - Ensure consistent application of SOPs, KPI tracking, and corrective action processes. - Lead deployment of ICQA tools, training matrices, and network-standard reporting. - Partner with Fulfillment Operations to maintain control limits for exceptions, adjustments, and location accuracy. - Performance & Metrics - Own regional metrics, including Inventory Accuracy, Shrink %, L%R, Audit Completion, and Exception Closure Rates. - Review daily/weekly data to identify trends, high-risk areas, and performance drift. - Conduct weekly reviews with site ICQA and Site Leads to drive continuous improvement and accountability. - Compliance & Governance - Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and customer-specific quality requirements. - Support execution of CAPA, audit responses, and inventory-related escalations. - Maintain proper segregation of duties between ICQA and Operations to preserve inventory integrity. - People Leadership - Directly manage and develop site-level ICQA Managers or Supervisors across the region. - Create a culture of accuracy, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. - Partner with HR and Ops Directors to forecast staffing, training, and succession planning. - Continuous Improvement - Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and BI teams to optimize ICQA processes and reporting. - Identify opportunities for system enhancements and automation to improve audit speed and inventory accuracy. - Support root cause analysis and CAPA implementation to address errors and control gaps. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. - 5–8 years of experience in fulfillment, logistics, or warehouse operations with a focus on inventory control or quality assurance. - Proven success managing multi-site operations within a 3PL, retail, or eCommerce network. - Strong knowledge of WMS, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean / Six Sigma preferred). - Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. - Willingness to travel 50 –70% to assigned regional sites.
Role Description As a Tax Manager, you will build and own our tax function from the ground up — serving as the company's first dedicated internal tax professional and the subject matter expert on all aspects of Stord's domestic and international tax obligations. This is a high-impact, high-visibility individual contributor role that goes well beyond compliance. You will own the full tax function, drive strategic tax planning, and serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, Controller, and Legal team as Stord grows, acquires, and scales globally. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with Legal, FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Billing, and external advisors, you will bring order, rigor, and proactive strategy to a tax footprint that now spans multiple federal, state, and international jurisdictions. What You'll Do - Indirect Tax Compliance - Own end-to-end US sales and use tax compliance — including nexus analysis, registration, filing, audit response, and ongoing monitoring of economic nexus thresholds across all active and emerging jurisdictions. - Manage VAT, GST, and HST compliance across international jurisdictions as Stord expands its global footprint. - Partner with Revenue and Legal teams to ensure proper tax treatment of new product lines, business models, and customer structures. - Income Tax & Planning - Coordinate federal, state, and international income tax return preparation with external preparers — reviewing returns and managing filing logistics prior to submission. - Manage estimated tax payments, extensions, and tax provision support. - Identify and pursue applicable tax credits including R&D tax credits, WOTC, and other applicable incentives. - Provide proactive tax planning recommendations to reduce Stord's effective tax rate and optimize the company's tax position as it scales. - Transfer Pricing - Develop, maintain, and update transfer pricing documentation for intercompany transactions across all legal entities. - Ensure intercompany agreements are properly structured and aligned with arm's-length standards. - Coordinate with Legal and external advisors to ensure compliance across all relevant tax jurisdictions. - Property & Payroll Tax - Manage annual personal property tax filings across all facility locations accurately and on time. - Oversee payroll tax compliance and coordinate payroll tax credit reviews in partnership with the HR and Payroll teams. - Transactional Tax - Serve as the primary internal tax advisor for complex transactions including acquisitions, secondary transactions, and significant corporate restructurings. - Review deal structures for tax efficiency and flag material risks to the CFO and Legal team prior to close. - Support post-close integration from a tax structuring and compliance perspective. - Tax Operations & Governance - Build and maintain a comprehensive tax compliance calendar ensuring zero missed filings or deadlines across all jurisdictions. - Manage Stord's external tax advisor network — rationalizing relationships and identifying where in-house capabilities are sufficient to reduce unnecessary spend. - Maintain tax-related records, documentation, and support schedules for financial statement audits. - Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes and proactively communicate impacts and implications to leadership. Qualifications - CPA required. - 7+ years of tax experience, including meaningful experience across both public accounting and corporate tax roles. - Proven expertise in US multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including nexus analysis and economic nexus threshold management. - Experience with VAT, GST, and/or HST compliance in at least one international jurisdiction. - Working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance and planning for a multi-entity corporate structure. - Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and documentation requirements. - Experience managing personal property tax filings across multiple locations. - Ability to manage multiple compliance deadlines simultaneously with high accuracy and minimal oversight. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax concepts clearly for non-tax stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - MST, LLM (Tax), or equivalent advanced tax credential. - Prior experience in a high-growth technology, SaaS, or logistics company. - Exposure to M&A tax structuring and/or tax due diligence in a corporate or advisory context. - Experience building a tax function at a scaling company — including establishing compliance calendars, documentation standards, and advisor management frameworks. - Familiarity with payroll tax credits including WOTC and R&D tax credit calculations. - Experience working with tax automation software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, or similar).

Beyond leading RFPs and carrier design, you will act as the commercial architect for our EMEA shipping products, owning pricing strategy and margin health.
