Chief Financial Officer
Solen Software GroupSolen is a team of software operators that invest in software and work alongside founders to accelerate growth.
Role Description We are seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to serve as a true capital markets and deal-making partner to our CEO, Alex Spencer. This is not a traditional operational CFO role — Solen already has a strong finance team led by our Group Head of Finance, Cassie Wang, that handles the day-to-day: accounting, FP&A, reporting, and operational finance. The CFO we are looking for is a seasoned capital markets and corporate development executive. You will sit at the center of how Solen grows: - Structuring and executing debt and equity raises - Leading negotiations - Driving capital allocation decisions across the portfolio - Managing investor and lender relationships - Supporting restructuring efforts when needed This is a high-trust, high-visibility role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution — a dealmaker who is equally comfortable in a boardroom and at the negotiating table. Qualifications - A proven track record of raising capital — equity, debt, or both — in growth or acquisition-oriented environments. - Deep familiarity with capital markets and financing structures, including leveraged buyouts, revolving credit facilities, seller financing, earn-outs, and alternative/non-dilutive instruments. - Experience negotiating directly with lenders, investors, sellers, and counterparties — and a reputation for getting deals across the finish line. - A strong sense for capital allocation in a portfolio context: where to invest, when to return capital, and how to balance risk and return across multiple business units. - Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment — scrappy and decisive, not reliant on large teams or heavyweight processes. - An ability to translate complex financial strategy into clear, compelling narratives for boards, investors, and partners. - Familiarity with software / SaaS business models and the metrics that matter (ARR, NRR, LTV/CAC, Rule of 40, etc.). Requirements - 10+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a capital markets-focused CFO role. - Demonstrated track record of successfully closing debt and/or equity financing transactions. - Strong M&A deal experience, including structuring, negotiation, and diligence. - Deep understanding of software / SaaS business models and recurring revenue dynamics. - Experience with portfolio company structures and managing financial oversight across multiple P&Ls. - Exceptional communicator — able to build credibility quickly with investors, lenders, boards, and operating teams. - Comfortable working in a lean environment without a large supporting team; resourceful and execution-oriented. - High integrity, sound judgment, and a long-term orientation that aligns with Solen's culture. Benefits - Direct impact: You will work side-by-side with the CEO on every major strategic and financial decision. - A real platform: Solen is backed by experienced software operators and investors with the capital and conviction to build something lasting. - Meaningful scope: A diversified portfolio across multiple software verticals, each with its own growth story. - Day 1 energy: The tools, processes, and relationships you build here will shape the company for years to come. - Long-term orientation: We are not optimizing for a near-term exit — we are building a durable, compounding business. Company Description Solen Software Group is an investment and operating company that acquires and operates proven software businesses with significant growth potential across a variety of vertical markets, enabling each to become a market leader in its niche. - Solen's portfolio spans Human Resource Technology, Fleet Telematics, Asset Management, E-Health, Document Management, and other innovative software solutions. - Solen is backed by a group of advisors and investors who have built software businesses of material scale (10–100M in ARR) and have advised many more. - We are at the beginning of a decades-long journey, and every decision we make reflects that long time horizon.
Lead Software Engineer
Solen Software GroupSolen is a team of software operators that invest in software and work alongside founders to accelerate growth.
Role Description At Solen, it's Day 1 of a decades-long journey in Brazil. As Technical Lead for our Brazil Developer CoE, you will be the hands-on engineering leader who turns that vision into code, systems, and a high-performing team. You will architect and operate a shared engineering capability that modernizes legacy systems, scales our portfolio's development capacity, and sets the technical standards for how Solen builds software across its companies. You'll balance strategy and execution: owning the roadmap, writing code on high-impact work, and helping portfolio company teams ship reliably and at quality. What You'll Do - Technical Strategy & Architecture - Own and evolve the CoE technical roadmap, including stack standardization that creates the most leverage across Solen companies (for example C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python). - Lead architecture reviews, design patterns, and proof-of-concepts for cloud-native solutions on AWS/Azure/GCP, including containers, Kubernetes, and serverless. - Drive technical debt reduction and modernization programs (for example monolith-to-microservices migrations, API-first initiatives, AI/ML integration where it is genuinely accretive). - Engineering Operations & Delivery - Design and operate CI/CD pipelines (for example GitHub Actions) that support frequent, reliable deployments across multiple codebases. - Run a CoE “service catalog” for portfolio companies: code reviews, prototyping, performance optimization, security scanning, and developer tooling. - Implement and track engineering metrics (code churn, test coverage targets, vulnerability density) to create a transparent, data-driven view of delivery health. - Standards, Platforms & Enablement - Define and enforce coding standards, API guidelines (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI), and security best practices. - Build and maintain shared assets: reusable libraries, Docker images, Helm charts, and internal developer platform components that make our engineers faster and safer by default. - Lead workshops and enablement sessions on topics such as event-driven architecture, reactive programming, observability, and GenAI-assisted development. - Team Leadership & Talent - Recruit, grow, and lead a 10-to-20-person engineering team in Brazil across full-stack, DevOps, AI, and platform engineering skill sets. - Lead by example: pair-program, perform high-quality code reviews, and own critical paths on key deliveries. - Foster a culture of blameless postmortems that share patterns and raise the bar. - Governance & Stakeholder Partnership - Partner closely with global architects, product leaders, and security teams to balance innovation with compliance and risk management. - Report technical KPIs and CoE impact to the Solen executive team via dashboards and concise documentation. - Optimize cost and capacity through smart resource allocation, re-use of shared components, and thoughtful use of open source and cloud-native services. Outcomes You Own - A high-performing Brazil CoE team of 15+ engineers delivering reliably for multiple Solen portfolio companies. - 10+ meaningful Solen/OpCo projects successfully delivered, with portfolio leaders viewing the CoE as their preferred partner for complex engineering work. - Clearly defined and repeatable CoE operating processes that can be replicated in other geographies. - A reputation as the trusted technical lead that portfolio companies seek out for architecture, modernization, and “hard” engineering problems. Qualifications - 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior/lead roles managing distributed or multi-team environments. - Deep experience with modern backend and frontend stacks (for example Java 17+/Spring Boot 3, Python 3.11+, React or Vue) and relational / NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred, Azure/GCP welcome), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps automation. - Proven track record in performance tuning, distributed systems, observability, and running production systems at meaningful scale. Leadership & Domain - Demonstrated success building or scaling engineering centers, ideally in Brazil/LATAM, for B2B or enterprise software businesses. - Strong grounding in Agile and DevOps at scale; certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect are a plus but not required. - Experience partnering with non-technical stakeholders (Founders, General Managers, Product) and translating business constraints into pragmatic technical decisions. Communication & Mindset - Fluent in Portuguese and English, with the ability to influence and align across a matrixed, global organization. - Data-driven and experimental, using metrics, retrospectives, and structured experiments to drive continuous improvement. - A champion of AI in software development, with hands-on experience leading AI-related projects or integrating AI into developer workflows considered a plus. How We Work We are a performance-oriented, learning-driven organization. We prioritize ownership, long-term thinking, and doing the hard, important work that compounds value over many years. We communicate with integrity, transparency, and respect in all conversations and seek out colleagues who are driven, curious, and committed to building something enduring. Inclusion & Hiring Practices We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
