• Work high-intent inbound opportunities from enriched, segmented enterprise logos and high-growth companies • Build on existing playbooks - we have hypotheses and early wins; you'll validate, iterate, and scale what works • Run experiments across messaging, timing, and channels to find repeatability • Expand existing customers by identifying accounts that could benefit from higher tiers or additional products • Prevent churn by distinguishing accounts worth saving from natural lifecycle churn • Be the voice of the customer internally - feeding learnings back to product, marketing, and success • Document everything - your learnings become the playbook the team builds on
• Be the front-line of customer requests • Debug, report, and ship scoped fixes for bugs and regressions • Turn recurring tickets into permanent fixes by shipping docs, product PRs, or agent improvements • Train and improve our AI support agent by refining prompts, adding tools, and running evals • Create guides and examples that showcase what's possible with Resend • Proactively build relationships and identify potential papercuts for customers • Advocate for customer needs to the greater Resend team
• Own the acquisition funnel end-to-end: understand where sign-ups come from, which channels are accelerating or stalling, and why • Amplify externally what we build internally: turn launches into extended reach without just throwing money at the problem • Optimize free-to-paid conversion: find the features that drive upgrades, and build the campaigns (drip, in-product, lifecycle) that surface them at the right moment • Improve our landing pages with real data: get into the weeds of traditional SEO and AI recommendations (AEO/GEO) • Evaluate paid spend: see how sponsorships, ads, and events affect our distribution. Role Description As a Product Engineer at Resend, you will help shape the core product experience. - Build polished product experiences for users using Resend. - Turn complex technical concepts into simple, clear, and trustworthy user experiences. - Own features end-to-end: product thinking, UX details, implementation, instrumentation, launch, and iteration. - Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and customer success to understand user problems and ship high-quality solutions. - Build debugging and observability experiences that help users understand what happened to their emails, webhooks, domains, and API requests. - Work primarily with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern web technologies. - Talk to users, understand customer pain, and turn those insights into better product decisions. - Help raise the bar for craft, performance, accessibility, reliability, and product quality across Resend. Qualifications - 6+ years of experience building and shipping high-quality web products. - Fluent in writing and speaking English. - Strong experience with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend development. - Comfortable working across the stack, including APIs, databases, server-side logic, and product infrastructure. - Care deeply about UX, interaction details, and product polish. - Can take an ambiguous customer problem and turn it into a clear, shippable solution. - Strong product judgment. - Love helping developers and care about developer experience. - Comfortable working in open-ended problems and situations. - Have a “default to action” mindset. - Hands-on and enjoy solving problems directly. - Low ego and enjoy collaborating with design, engineering, and customer success. • Build and improve the security foundations of Resend’s platform, including API keys, service permissions, secrets management, tenant isolation, audit logs, and internal access controls • Help design secure defaults for new services, workers, queues, databases, internal tools, and deployment pipelines • Improve detection and response for suspicious access, leaked credentials, abnormal sending behavior, privilege changes, and sensitive system events • Review and update our processes/pipelines so that security is “built-in”, not “bolt-on” • Raise the security bar
• Build and operate Resend’s email transport infrastructure • Work on SMTP delivery, MTA systems, routing, retries, backoff strategies, and delivery controls • Design systems for domain-level, provider-level, customer-level, and IP-level throttling • Build infrastructure for shared IP pools, dedicated IPs, warmup execution, and reputation-aware routing • Improve how Resend classifies bounces, deferrals, transient failures, hard failures, and delivery outcomes • Build tools that help the team debug delivery issues by customer, domain, mailbox provider, route, IP, message type, and event • Help design systems that make sending behavior safer, more observable, and easier to operate • Translate reputation strategy into backend systems • Partner with Trust & Safety to build controls that protect Resend’s sending network from abuse • Participate in incident response for sending, provider, and deliverability-sensitive issues • Be on-call for critical services
• Responsible for building and maintaining the core components of Resend that handle sending transactional and marketing emails • Collaborate with the Core Sending Squad
• Help define the architecture to support millions of daily API requests • Build and scale infrastructure to send dozens of millions of emails per day • Improve high availability across distributed applications • Scale databases like Postgres and Clickhouse to ensure they are performant • Enhance observability by using monitoring tools like Datadog • Refine disaster recovery plans to ensure recovery is quick and reliable • Help build infrastructure with IaC frameworks like CDK and TF • Work with Typescript and Golang • Design and operate async pipelines (queues, streams, idempotency, retries, DLQs)
