Role Description The Service Specialist – H2 is responsible for providing after-market service and support of Plug Power’s GenFuel hydrogen utility infrastructure at customer sites. The role requires highly adept technical and troubleshooting skills both with electro-mechanical and industrial gas systems. The Service Specialist - H2 will also be called upon to train and develop our RSR (Regional Service Specialist) on H2 system maintenance, procedures, and troubleshooting so that they can effectively help provide day-to-day H2 system support to their aligned customer sites. This role is vital to supporting the strong reputation for the reliability of Plug Power technology as well as furthering the Company’s reputation as a dedicated service partner to customers. Project Manager, Hydrogen Systems is responsible to lead Plug Power’s teams in planning, organizing, supervising, directing and completing all aspects of the execution process for hydrogen fueling infrastructure at customer locations.  This position will work with the internal Plug Power team(s), the industrial gas companies, permitting agencies, contractors, suppliers and the end-customer to ensure a smooth transition during hydrogen fuel cell deployments. Their primary goal will be to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager will be in a customer facing role and will be communicating with multiple key customers through the execution of the project(s). Up to 80% travel is anticipated as needed. Core Duties and Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of Plug Power products and related hydrogen infrastructure system designs and functionality. - Work as subject matter expert to manage all facets of hydrogen system installations at customer sites. - Development, and deployment of Project schedules and budgets with strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines. - Strong problem-solving ability is needed with the ability to manage multiple tasks. - Coordinate the activities of all parties involved with hydrogen system deployments including: industrial gas companies, permitting team(s), design team(s), construction team(s) as well as external contractors as needed. - Collaborate with internal project teams as necessary for hydrogen deployments; be proactive in alignment of efforts to achieve project timetables. - Provide guidance and technical expertise on project sites as required; set expectations for suppliers and contractors in alignment with Plug Power standards. - Help to manage project schedules and resolve problems as necessary to deliver on end-customer expectations. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, team members and upper management, to keep everyone informed and engaged. Status reports and/or regular meetings may be required. - Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions. - Perform all other duties as assigned. Expectations - Will be ultimately responsible for success of project and will take over as soon as the opportunity becomes a confirmed project. - Shall monitor the status of the project schedule and adjust as needed. - Will be expected to monitor project deliverable status and timing from the design team, permitting team and construction team. - Will need to communicate to upper management any delays that cannot be mitigated. - Coordinate and collaborate with the finance, planning, logistics teams to ensure that all parties are aware of the project plan. - Will be responsible for maintenance of the overall budget. Will assign specific budgets to the design, permitting and construction teams and will ensure that these are maintained. - Shall gain approved extra work authorizations and extensions of time as needed to ensure that budgets and schedules are not adversely affected without justification and cause. - Shall ensure that documentation is obtained for all project variances from each internal team. - Shall be responsible to ensure that all closeout documents and invoices are obtained from all parties prior to closing out the project and work order. Education and Experience - BS degree in engineering: mechanical, electrical or other applicable field of study. - A minimum of three (3) years working experience in project-based engineering functions and construction project management. - PMP certification highly preferred. - Ability to travel frequently in the domestic U.S. to customer sites for infrastructure project management activities; up to 100% of the time. - Proven track record in project management; delivering quality results on-time and on budget. - Adept at mitigating project roadblocks and developing solutions to keep projects on schedule and within committed specifications. - Experience in any of the following spheres of activity is preferred and highly valued: - Hydrogen and/or fuel cells - Cryogenic Industry - High Pressure Systems (250 Bar and up) - Gas processing and/or dispensing equipment - Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc… - Logistics/Material Handling - Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.  - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders. - Uncompromising dedication to quality. - Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail. - Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively. - Ability to role model high standards of professionalism. - Excellent follow-through.  - Must be driven and self-motivated.
