Role Description The Software Development Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks in the Technology department at ONC. The Software Development Intern is responsible for maintaining our website. - Page designs, bug fixes, complete a few pages, etc. - Research and use WordPress and PHP software. - Implement new features according to incoming design and functional requirements. - Work closely with the IT Director of Technology, but most work will be completed independently. - Time management is an essential skill for this role. - This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack. - Maintain a high level of communication. - Some choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards. Writes political content for ONC, including but not necessarily limited to high-quality OpEds and Policy Proposals for ONC’s website. Furthermore, this intern must ensure that ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is evident in all published work. The Core Content Writers will consist of conservative, progressive, and moderate writers, and typical topic areas may include: - Governance - Economics - Infrastructure - Healthcare - Foreign Policy and Defense - Justice and Public Safety - Social Issues - Science, Environment and Technology We also hold weekly podcasts and, while not mandatory, prefer someone interested in occasionally attending a virtual podcast. Role Description The Podcast Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by assisting with the production of Our National Conversation (ONC)’s podcast. This intern is responsible for: - Recording of podcasts - Editing of podcasts - Ensuring the research and completion of episode outlines by the deadline - Publishing all finished episodes The Podcast intern must be creative and a good team player. This position is remote , with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. Compensation: This is not a paid position. Role Description We're looking for student interns interested in being creative writers with material, jokes (nothing heavy), scripts. These items get incorporated into our social media channels. - Our nonprofit is largely an unpaid base of student interns and volunteers. However, some colleges provide credit to students for working with us for a semester. If this may apply to you then definitely inquire with us! - Here’s some of our past work: - Instagram Post - TikTok Video - Other social media roles are also on the table, to include work with AI Animation, monthly podcasts, and team lead duties. - The Media & Marketing team is a fun bunch! - We primarily use Slack, Google Drive, and Zoom to communicate. - Meetings for the Media & Marketing team occur on Tuesdays at 3:30pm PST (mandatory but exceptions may be made for the right candidate). - We operate on a semester basis; if you can commit to at least two or three semesters, that’s a big plus! - When applying, please include a link to some of your past work (if possible). Each week we’ll want you to write about, and provide links to, the best social media posts, the best tit-for-tat exchanges, the best video clips and more. Political advertising is another viable topic. Keep us informed as to what’s going on – it’s hard to keep up! This is an unpaid internship. Preference to those who may get college credit for working with us (we currently have some interns who received school approval for this opportunity). Looking for a commitment of 5-10 hours per week. Job Description Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. We’re looking for 3-4 skilled on-air debaters to join our monthly political podcast, presenting well-researched, persuasive arguments on political issues. You’ll participate in structured debates via zoom, that will be subsequently edited and posted onto our social media platforms. There may be prior collaboration with the production team on prep and fact-checking. This is a recurring role (monthly) requiring reliable availability, commitment to show guidelines, and support of the nonprofit’s mission. Depending on ideas, availability, and success, we may hold multiple debates each month. This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication.
