In this dynamic role, you will be required to operate at an impeccable level of consistency while mastering new techniques and technologies to ensure GoFundMe remains a safe place to give and receive donations online. Trust & Safety is an integral part of GoFundMe's business. It drives growth, builds and nurtures our brand, and ensures that we always do the right thing by our customers. We are at the front line of GoFundMe's efforts to protect donors, fundraiser organizers, beneficiaries, and our company from financial crimes and abuse. As a member of the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team, you will be responsible for conducting high-quality due diligence reviews to ensure the authenticity of fundraisers, campaign organizers, and beneficiaries. This includes verifying identities and Know Your Customer/Business (KYC/B) information, reviewing fundraisers for indicators of fraud or financial crime, and applying established risk criteria to identify and escalate high-risk cases. You will play a critical role in enforcing compliance while maintaining a safe and trusted platform for our community. The Job - Apply established risk-based methodologies to review identity verification results and supporting documentation to confirm customer identity and authenticity of fundraisers and beneficiaries. - Conduct CDD and KYC reviews in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements, supporting more complex reviews and escalations when appropriate. - Perform sanctions and watchlist screening and identify potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), adverse media, or other risk indicators requiring further review - Review fundraiser, account, and transactional attributes for indicators of fraud, abuse, or financial crime using established risk signals, and escalate concerns according to defined procedures. - Conduct onboarding due diligence on organizations, including verification of entity information, ownership details, and supporting documentation where required. - Document findings clearly and accurately in internal case management systems to support escalation decisions, audit readiness, and downstream investigations. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payments Risk, Content Risk, Legal, Customer Care, and Compliance, to resolve due diligence inquiries - Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone related to identity verification and due diligence requirements, balancing risk mitigation with a positive user experience. - Use familiarity with common fraud and financial crime risks observed on the platform to support effective identification and escalation of higher-risk cases. - Support the team during crisis situations by setting up crisis monitoring protocols and proactively assisting affected customers and other stakeholders as needed. - Stay informed on emerging financial crime trends relevant to social fundraising platforms. - Provide technical guidance and quality feedback to analysts, supporting investigative consistency and adherence to team standards. - Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness and scalability of the CDD program. This position may involve reviewing sensitive material, which can include disturbing images, videos, or text, as well as offensive language and other challenging content (e.g., violence, exploitation, or self-injury). Some weekend and holiday work may be required as part of scheduled shifts, as well as being a member of our on-call team for emergencies. We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Revenue Accounting Manager to lead and scale our end-to-end revenue accounting function. This role will oversee both transactional and SaaS revenue streams, maintain and apply ASC 606 policy and interpretation, lead revenue audit engagement, and partner cross-functionally to support scalable revenue system design across billing, revenue and ERP systems. You will operate at the intersection of accounting, systems, and product strategy, translating complex revenue guidance into automated, controlled, and scalable processes that support a high-growth, multi-currency and product environment. This role is responsible for strengthening revenue infrastructure, maintaining audit readiness, and supporting the continued development of the revenue accounting function. The Job - Oversee accounting and reporting for both transactional and SaaS revenue streams, ensuring accurate, scalable, and GAAP-compliant revenue recognition across complex arrangements. - Lead month-end and quarter-end revenue close activities, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards, and flux analyses. - Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue-related audit activities, preparing technical memos and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and SOX compliance. - Provide oversight and guidance to ensure ASC 606 policy is accurately implemented within revenue systems in partnership with the Product, Engineering, Sales Operations and Business Systems teams. - Support scalable revenue system design across Zuora Billing, RevPro, Payment Service Providers, and NetSuite, ensuring revenue logic is appropriately reflected in system configuration and data flows. - Drive continuous improvement of revenue processes, controls, automation, and reporting. - Manage and develop members of the revenue accounting team, providing guidance on complex transactions and technical accounting matters. - Support ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives with data-driven insights that enhance financial decision-making and operational integrity. This role plays a key part in developing and enhancing the company’s revenue infrastructure to support a growing and evolving business. You - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry experience with a focus on revenue recognition and systems. - Strong experience with SaaS revenue models, including subscription and usage-based arrangements, and application of ASC 606. - 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring accounting team members. - Strong experience with Zuora Billing and/or Zuora RevPro, including oversight of product configuration, billing workflows, revenue rules, and integrations supporting ASC 606–compliant revenue recognition. - Deep understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606, with the ability to interpret technical guidance and ensure consistent application across revenue streams. - Demonstrated ownership of revenue close processes and revenue-related audit activities, including preparation and review of reconciliations, technical memos, and supporting documentation. - Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment and maintaining effective internal controls over revenue. - Familiarity with ERP systems and system integrations between product platforms, billing systems, and financial reporting tools. - Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Accounting, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Legal. - CPA or equivalent required.
