Role Description The Data Engineering Practice Leader will serve as a senior pillar lead responsible for shaping data engineering strategy, growing a book of business, leading practice development, and overseeing delivery of enterprise-scale data transformation initiatives. This role sits within FormativGroup’s Data & Analytics practice and blends consulting leadership, executive advisory, technical oversight, commercial ownership, and team development. The position is approximately 25% billable delivery and 75% business development, practice ownership, and strategic leadership. As the Practice Leader, you will partner with executive client stakeholders, lead account growth, oversee solution architecture, guide delivery teams, and help define scalable, modern data solutions across Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and related cloud data ecosystems. What You'll Work On - Serve as a senior pillar lead for the Data & Analytics - Data Engineering practice. - Own and grow a book of business through client relationship leadership, business development, and strategic account expansion. - Lead strategic data modernization discussions with executive and senior client stakeholders. - Shape solution strategy, future-state architecture, and transformation roadmaps for enterprise clients. - Oversee delivery of complex data engineering programs, ensuring alignment to business outcomes, architecture standards, and delivery quality. - Develop new data engineering offerings, accelerators, products, and reusable delivery assets. - Provide technical oversight across Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and equivalent modern data platforms. - Guide solutioning for data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, advanced analytics enablement, and AI-ready data platforms. - Lead proposal strategy, pursuit support, client presentations, and commercial solution development. - Partner with internal leadership to define practice priorities, talent strategy, delivery methodology, and growth plans. - Manage, mentor, and develop senior managers, managers, architects, consultants, and cross-functional delivery teams. - Establish governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, privacy, and compliance standards across client programs. - Evaluate emerging data, analytics, and AI-enablement technologies and determine applicability to client and practice needs. - Monitor portfolio performance, delivery health, financial outcomes, and client satisfaction. - Represent FormativGroup as a trusted advisor in data engineering, analytics modernization, and cloud data transformation. Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data architecture, cloud data platforms, or related technology consulting roles. - 10+ years of leadership experience within a traditional consulting firm, technology consulting firm, systems integrator, or professional services organization. - Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. - Strong technical background with the ability to solution, oversee architecture, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and develop new data products or offerings. - Executive-level advisory experience across analytics strategy, data modernization, cloud transformation, and business value realization. - Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT, pipeline design, data integration, governance, security, and compliance. - Experience leading large enterprise programs, multi-year engagements, or complex consulting portfolios. - Experience with proposal development, pursuit strategy, solution design, pricing support, and executive presentations. - Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance client outcomes, delivery quality, and financial performance. - Exceptional communication, executive presence, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. - Experience leading account growth, business development, relationship leadership, and strategic account expansion. This is a remote role with approximately 50% travel. Candidates residing outside these locations are not eligible for consideration currently. Compensation The estimated compensation range for this position is $185,000 — $265,000 USD. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. • Advise clients on end-to-end solutions across data strategy, data management, and data quality. • Support business development, methodology development, team leadership, and delivery execution for data governance assessments and implementations. • Design and develop data governance technology solutions across data quality, data dictionaries, business glossaries, data standards, and data policies. • Define organizational design, governance processes, policies, roles, responsibilities, success metrics, and operating models for client data programs. • Build roadmaps covering technology, culture, governance, processes, skills, competencies, data quality, analytics, and data management maturity. • Lead and collaborate with data governance teams to create business cases, resource plans, implementation roadmaps, and enterprise data system assessments. • Assess current-state environments, identify client pain points and requirements, and help define a practical vision and strategy for becoming a data-driven organization. • Advise clients as a trusted partner and provide thought leadership on data governance, data management, cloud transformation, AI readiness, and related best practices. • Manage resources, budgets, project delivery, team development, training, mentoring, and performance assessment.

• Lead a distributed engineering team across platform/product engineering, connectors, QA, DevOps/infra, AI implementation, data governance, and support. • Own delivery, quality, release discipline, and execution of the technical roadmap. • Install engineering discipline where it's thin: automated testing, QA, CI/CD, release governance, and versioning. • Drive repeatable, perimeter-safe deployments, including containerization, infrastructure-as-code, secure deployment, and SOC 2 readiness. • Partner with the Chief Architect on the connector framework, canonical metadata model, architecture decisions, and product IP. • Build the team: assess current talent, retain the strong, hire the gaps, and align the team plan to the roadmap. • Push practical AI use across coding, review, testing, ops, and engineering productivity.

• Own the end-to-end product design vision for a data-dense enterprise platform. • Translate complex lineage, migration impact, governance, and blast-radius workflows into clear, navigable product experiences. • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define what gets built, for whom, and why. • Design for two audiences at once: technical users who need depth and senior stakeholders who need confidence in decisions. • Build and maintain the design system, set the quality bar, and create repeatable standards for future product surfaces. • Run user discovery and research; turn what you learn into product direction, design decisions, and prioritization input. • Use AI across the design workflow, including research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, iteration, and productivity.

• You are the technical engine of every deal. • You run discovery, lead the platform assessment, demo the product, and own the proof-of-concept, the POC is how we win. • You translate a customer's migration risk into a concrete blast-radius map, handle the hard technical objections, scope the work, and hand off cleanly to delivery. • Run technical discovery with data and platform leaders at regulated enterprises. • Lead the platform assessment: map the estate, score complexity, show the migration blast radius. • Own demos and POCs end to end, the SE-run POC is the primary proof in the sales cycle. • Handle technical objections (perimeter/security, cross-platform lineage, build-vs-buy) with credibility. • Scope engagements and hand off to FormativGroup delivery; stay close through landing. • Feed what you learn in the field back into product priorities.

• Answer, triage, and resolve service desk tickets and calls for an enterprise user base • Use Amazon Connect and Salesforce Service Cloud Voice to manage contacts, cases, and call workflows • Document incidents and requests accurately; escalate per defined ITSM procedures • Meet service-level targets for response, resolution, and customer satisfaction • Contribute to knowledge base articles and continuous improvement of support processes

• Supervise and coach service desk analysts; manage schedules, coverage, and performance • Own escalation handling, quality assurance, and adherence to ITIL-aligned processes • Monitor queues and service-level metrics in Amazon Connect / Service Cloud Voice; rebalance staffing in real time • Report on operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for stakeholders and leadership

• Partner with client stakeholders, business users, and delivery teams to gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements across Salesforce Government Cloud implementations. • Design and configure Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related Salesforce platform technologies using declarative functionality and platform best practices. • Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions including Flows, page layouts, validation rules, record types, approval processes, dashboards, reports, and security configurations. • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, backlog grooming, user story development, and solution review meetings with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA teams, and project managers to support end-to-end Salesforce solution delivery. • Support configuration and administration activities including user setup, profiles, permission sets, workflows, automation, and environment management. • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities. • Assist with testing coordination, UAT preparation, defect validation, and production deployment activities. • Support data migration and data quality initiatives including imports, exports, cleansing, and validation activities. • Participate in client-facing presentations, demonstrations, training sessions, and change management activities. • Ensure solutions align with Salesforce platform governance, security standards, and Government Cloud compliance requirements. • Collaborate with integration and technical teams to support API-driven processes and connected system workflows. • Maintain accurate project documentation including business requirements, process flows, user stories, configuration documentation, and training materials. • Provide consultative recommendations to optimize business processes, improve platform adoption, and enhance user experience.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies and test plans across Salesforce Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud implementations. • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, and end-to-end testing across complex Salesforce solutions and integrations. • Validate Salesforce configurations, Flows, Lightning components, Apex functionality, APIs, security models, and custom platform enhancements. • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and project teams to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and business processes. • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and regression suites utilizing Copado and related Salesforce testing tools. • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, retrospectives, and release readiness activities. • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution while partnering closely with development teams on root cause analysis and remediation. • Validate data integrity, migration accuracy, and platform behavior across environments and deployments. • Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with security, governance, accessibility, and regulatory requirements within Government Cloud environments. • Support CI/CD deployment validation, release management activities, and production readiness testing. • Execute API and integration testing involving MuleSoft, middleware platforms, and external enterprise systems. • Participate in client-facing discussions, testing reviews, and UAT coordination sessions as needed. • Maintain accurate QA documentation including test cases, test scripts, traceability matrices, defect logs, and release validation reports. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes, automation frameworks, and Agile delivery practices.

• Lead end-to-end Salesforce Government Cloud and Public Sector implementation projects across the full SDLC and Agile delivery lifecycle. • Manage project scope, schedule, financials, risks, dependencies, deliverables, resource planning, and overall client expectations throughout the engagement lifecycle. • Drive successful delivery of complex multi-cloud, multi-integration Salesforce initiatives involving cross-functional and distributed teams. • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, facilitating executive-level communications, status reporting, workshops, governance meetings, and delivery reviews. • Collaborate closely with solution architects, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and leadership to validate technical and functional solution strategies. • Monitor project health through KPIs, financial tracking, RAID logs, sprint metrics, and delivery milestones while proactively mitigating risks and resolving escalations. • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, retrospectives, and release planning activities. • Ensure adherence to Salesforce implementation best practices, governance standards, compliance requirements, and delivery methodologies. • Support project solutioning activities including requirements gathering, estimation, roadmap planning, implementation strategy, and change management. • Participate in pre-sales and business development activities including scoping workshops, statement of work reviews, effort estimation, and client presentations. • Provide leadership and mentorship to delivery teams, including offshore and remote resources, while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Coordinate deployment readiness, testing activities, UAT support, release management, and production cutover planning. • Maintain strong client relationships while positioning FormativGroup as a trusted advisor and strategic delivery partner.
