What You’re Applying For: Edmunds is looking for a mid level software engineer to transform the way people buy cars. Buying a car can be a daunting process through which consumers begrudgingly go every five to six years. At Edmunds, we build tools to allow consumers to shop online and connect with dealers. You will work with a cross-functional team to create products that take the stress out of car buying. What You’ll Do: - Help customers complete more of the automotive transaction online by building deeper integrations with forward-looking dealers. - Assure shoppers that they are getting a good deal by revamping the way we present pricing on our website. - Streamline the way customers reach out to dealers through our platform by optimizing the performance of those pages. - Research and evangelize modern Javascript best practices and client-side application design. - Coordinate the development of front-end features from technical design to production deployment. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other software engineers. You are the key to our consumers being able to easily compare the features and options of different vehicles to make their shopping experience easy and informative. What You’ll Do: Research, interpret and entry - you’ll be responsible for a set list of OEMs and must ensure the data for these OEMs is complete and up to date as you are the first step in ensuring the accuracy of the individual vehicle data contained on Edmunds.com. A typical day could consist of a combination or all of the following: - Entry of all vehicle data such as features, options, colors by make and model - Researching the assigned OEM's for additions/updates/changes - Helping a team member out if they are swamped with their updates - Peer reviewing data additions/updates - Participating in data clean-up projects to improve data quality and consistency What You Need: - We deal with a LOT OF AUTOMOTIVE DATA – this person must be ready to breathe, eat and sweat all things automotive. Quite honestly, you have to be an auto enthusiast and comfortable working with data to be successful in this role - The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast paced environment. Data never sleeps. Both time and accuracy are of the essence - Proficiency with Google Systems (i.e. Gmail & Google Sheets) and MS Office - Word, Excel. What You’re Applying For: The Data Science Team at Edmunds.com is seeking a Senior Data Scientist who will help us design and implement the next generation of data and AI driven product initiatives. You will dive deep into Edmunds’ users and clients, as well as the automotive marketplace, to directly improve existing products and inspire new product experiences. You will play a key role in developing ML & AI prototypes and production grade services that are integrated by the product engineers. What You’ll Do: - Engineering & Product Collaboration: Work closely with a team of engineers, data scientists and product managers to build scalable and high-impact ML and AI systems. Collaborate on the end-to-end development process, from ideation to deployment, ensuring that data-driven solutions are seamlessly integrated into our products and services. - LLM Integration and Optimization: Oversee the integration and deployment of LLMs, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in an agentic framework, with a focus on optimizing model performance and scalability to enhance user experience and drive business results. - Own the complete ML lifecycle—from problem framing through data sourcing, modeling, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. - Build, manage, and maintain reliable data pipelines and ML workflows. - Ensure reproducibility through versioning, testing, documentation, and proper model lineage. What You Need: - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred AND - An advanced degree + 3-4 years of work experience in an analytics-related position OR - 5+ years of work experience in a data science-related position - Deep understanding of the data platforms in which you’ve previously worked - Experience with deploying and scaling of machine learning models. This includes automating model training, optimizing runtime performance of models, and deployment processes to enable fast, reliable delivery of AI solutions in production environments. - You are proficient in SQL, Python and ML frameworks with strong coding skills. - Experience using data to intelligently optimize product performance The compensation range for this position is $137,000 - $189,000 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. : Set the technical vision and roadmap for new-vehicle analytics, ensuring alignment with overall Pricing and Statistical Engineering strategies. Identify and incorporate modern statistical techniques, machine learning, and generative AI into valuation, pricing, and forecasting systems. Architect, develop, and validate statistical and machine learning models for new-vehicle pricing, TMV/valuation systems, and time-series forecasting, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and robustness. Guide the design of rigorous experiments, calibration frameworks, and evaluation methodologies. Lead end-to-end execution of strategic, complex initiatives, overseeing timelines, prioritization, and resourcing.
