What You’re Applying For: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer/Director, Statistical Engineering to lead AI/Machine Learning innovation, statistical innovation, and advanced analytics for the New Vehicles domain. This role is accountable for delivering measurable business impact through advanced modeling, data driven insights, and strategic technical leadership, directly shaping our pricing and valuation products. What You’ll Do: - Set the technical vision and roadmap for new-vehicle analytics, ensuring alignment with overall Pricing and Statistical Engineering strategies. - Identify and incorporate modern statistical techniques, machine learning, and generative AI into valuation, pricing, and forecasting systems. - Architect, develop, and validate statistical and machine learning models for new-vehicle pricing, TMV/valuation systems, and time-series forecasting, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and robustness. - Guide the design of rigorous experiments, calibration frameworks, and evaluation methodologies. - Lead end-to-end execution of strategic, complex initiatives, overseeing timelines, prioritization, and resourcing. - Communicate results, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly and impactfully to executive leadership and business partners. - Collaborate closely with the internal Stats group to maintain technical alignment and shared documentations. - Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Business stakeholders to integrate models and insights into downstream systems. What You Need: - Core Qualifications: PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Econometrics, Data Science, or related). - 8+ years (Senior Staff) / 10+ years (Director) of applied analytics and statistical modeling experience. - Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in Machine Learning, time-series forecasting, and advanced statistical methods. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud-based data environments. Proven track record leading complex, high-impact analytical initiatives. - Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication skills, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader focused on owning and innovating the new-vehicles analytics space. - Plus: Automotive pricing or valuation experience. The compensation range for this position is $184,000 - $254,000 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
