Role Description The DS Smith Sales team are a dynamic and vibrant mix of professionals who focus on delivering the Sales strategy, goals and performance whilst working to delight our customers by showcasing our sustainable and innovative packaging solutions. - Exciting opportunity for a pro-active and driven individual to join as a Business Development Manager for the UK Central Packaging Division. - Key position within the business, seeking an ambitious, customer-focused individual. - Work across wider packaging teams (both in the UK and Europe) and liaise with other Sales Managers. - Transform the role in line with our growth strategy. - True Business Development role with a small amount of account management supported by admin assistance. - Strong sales professional and natural ‘people-person’ thriving on networking with existing and potential customers. - Experience within the packaging industry, building strong working relations within various markets such as Drinks, Snacks, and wider FMCG markets. - Home-based role with a strong focus on travelling to meet customers and teams across the country. Qualifications - Proven success, knowledge, and experience in Business Development role within FMCG. - Packaging experience desirable but will welcome experience in other areas. - Full driving license. - Strong ability to work independently & remotely with travel as needed. - Strong business acumen and negotiation skills with the ability to deal with conflict and challenge both externally and internally. - Driven to meet sales targets. - Proven success, knowledge, and experience with pipeline management and sales reporting. - Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders around the business. - Ability to deliver dynamic & professional presentations. Role Description We have a fantastic opportunity for a Category Specialist to join our sourcing team. Working remotely, you will support our European sourcing requirements across key categories including 3D and 2D. As a Category Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert for your category, bringing deep knowledge of the supplier landscape and a strong understanding of stakeholder needs. You will align capabilities to current and future requirements, delivering commercial value and supporting our client contractual commitments. You’ll play a key role in driving value through collaboration with client-facing teams and category support functions—identifying and delivering opportunities to improve cost, performance, and overall supply base effectiveness.
