Our mission on the Developer Platform Team is to help game studios succeed by creating meaningful experiences for players. - Work on tools studios use to integrate with Discord and player-facing experiences. - Design in-game ways to invite Discord friends, onboarding flows for studios, and new ways to bring game moments onto Discord. - Span surfaces like the developer portal, dashboards, self-serve tools, in-game overlays, and the Discord client. - Work across the full product development cycle—from early exploration through to launch and iteration. - Bring a thoughtful mix of user empathy, systems thinking, and visual craft to solve meaningful problems for developers and players. • Manage and develop a team across knowledge management, training delivery, policy implementation, and content operations, providing mentorship, clear direction, and support for their professional growth across a range of experience levels. • Set and own documentation standards for T&S and CX. L&I owns how T&S and CX FTEs and BPO agents access and use operational knowledge, including SOPs, IKBs, decision trees, enforcement flowcharts, and Help Center articles. You'll define what good looks like and make sure standards are applied and maintained in practice, not just written down. • Lead policy implementation as an end-to-end operational function. Working closely with Product Policy, Product Operations, Scaled Operations, and Safety Engineering, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of translating new and updated safety policies into operational practice, from intake and scoping through documentation, training, tooling coordination, and launch. You are accountable for this function running well and staying ahead of what's coming. • Make the team's work visible to leadership and cross-functional partners. Director of Product Communications San Francisco Bay Area Reporting to the VP of Public Affairs, you will help lead product storytelling that introduces people all over the world to Discord. We’re looking for an experienced communications pro to develop and execute strategies that tell our product story across consumer and industry audiences. We have inspiring stories to tell – everything from new features to player stories, to what makes Discord unique, to how we’re fueling the gaming industry for developers. Working with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders, you’ll play a big role in helping us build comprehension for how Discord uniquely sits at the intersection of connection and play. This is also a very exciting opportunity to build out the Product Comms function -- you will help shape the vision and strategy of this work while also hiring, onboarding, and managing the team carrying it out. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $295,000 to $315,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. • Manage indirect tax compliance end-to-end—prepare, analyze, and monitor Sales and Use tax, VAT/GST, and other obligations across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with external advisors to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and international corporate income tax returns, and own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision process including supporting schedules and documentation. • Drive international tax workstreams including transfer pricing documentation, intercompany transactions, cross-border compliance, and tax analysis related to global expansion and new product launches. • Manage responses to tax authority notices and audits, and research tax incentives, credits, and legislative developments that impact the company. • Prepare month-end and quarter-end close workpapers, reconciliations, and journal entries, including tax reporting and analysis for equity award programs. • Serve as the go-to technical resource for the company’s tax technology platforms—administer systems, drive implementation of new tools, and optimize existing compliance software. • Identify and execute opportunities to improve tax processes, documentation, internal controls, and automation across the function, and assist with ad-hoc and special tax projects as needed.
