• Own a set of interconnected product areas that shape our voice pipeline and be accountable for their strategy, roadmap, and outcomes. • Own the voice pipeline — ASR, TTS, streaming, latency, evals, and the underlying model bets — and manage the roadmap of technology investments. • Define and execute the voice roadmap. Our customers are agentifying their customer experience and call center operations, and want voice solutions that deliver the best experience for both their customers and their call center operations. • Manage the commercial relationships with our third-party voice technology providers and partners, including build-versus-buy decisions as the vendor landscape shifts. • Work closely with our technical teams to ensure voice investments stay aligned with the underlying agentic platform. • Manage the telephony integrations — the conduit between our solution and customers’ CCaaS stacks. Triage inbound requests with a bias toward saying no cleanly; the framework is defined and the goal is disciplined execution, not proliferation. • Set strategy and own the roadmap — balancing active customer commitments, tech debt, and technology bets. • Work directly with customers and account teams to prioritize and sequence delivery. • Maintain ruthless prioritization: actively manage and prune the backlog; say no with clarity and evidence. • Establish metrics and telemetry for each building block of the voice pipeline as well as the end-to-end experience, so outcomes are measurable and decisions are data-driven.

• Drive the roadmap for customer-facing dashboards and analytics. • Build the value realization story. • Own exportable data feeds and real-time data APIs. • Own the data strategy layer. • Lead data discovery for strategic customer launches. • Partner deeply with Engineering and Data Science. • Manage the trust layer of the data experience.

• Engage mid-cycle on mature opportunities. Lead the next phase of architectural discovery and design, once product fit and executive sponsorship are established. • Facilitate technical design workshops. Run multi-day workshops with prospect leadership and engineering. Cover current- and target-state architecture, integration, data flows, identity, security, observability, and cutover. • Produce target-state reference architectures. Deliver reference diagrams, integration patterns, deployment topologies, sequencing plans, and risk registers. Ground each in the prospect’s telephony stack (Genesys, Amazon Connect, Twilio, Avaya) and digital/messaging platforms. • Translate ASAPP’s Agentic AI capabilities into concrete integration patterns. Design how ASAPP plugs in: SIP, WebSocket, call transfers, CCaaS event streams, agent desktop embeds, CRM integration, voice/digital handoff, and AI-to-human transitions. • Prototype to move deals forward. When a technical question is blocking a deal, build a working prototype, custom adapter, or API POC yourself. Move fast rather than wait on engineering. • Develop reusable patterns. Codify field learnings into reference architectures and design guardrails. Make them reusable across the broader SE and partner ecosystem. • Bring the field back to product. Surface architectural patterns, gaps, and opportunities to ASAPP Product and Engineering. • Support customer security review. Partner with ASAPP InfoSec to address enterprise security, privacy, and compliance questions.
• Support Strategic Deals Directly. Lead discovery, demos, architecture deep-dives, and POCs for our largest prospects. • Build the team. Hire, develop, and retain a bar-raising SE team. Set the standard for technical storytelling, discovery rigor, and demo craft. • Own the technical win. Partner with Sales Leadership on deal strategy. Translate CXP’s capabilities into outcomes that resonate with customer executives. • Engineer repeatability. Design demos, reference architectures, and POC frameworks that scale without diluting quality. • Close the loop with Product. Convert competitive signals, gaps, and breakthrough wedges into clear input that shapes the roadmap. • De-risk the handoff. Set Implementation up to deliver in weeks, not quarters. • Run the function. Own SE metrics, forecasting inputs and capacity planning.

Position Overview: We are expanding our research team and looking for an experienced Research Scientist specializing in Conversational AI & Machine Learning. In this role, you will work on solving scientific challenges related to Conversational AI to build domain-specific, real-world solutions. You will have the opportunity to leverage the massive amounts of data generated by our products to ask fundamental research questions, while deploying AI features into real-world applications. What you'll do - Hands-on Research: Be deeply involved in hands-on technical work in any and all aspects of research projects from early exploration to working prototypes to achieve successful real-world applications. - Research Leadership: Identify promising applications of AI relevant to ASAPP’s core mission, formulate and advocate for research programs in those areas, and take ownership of driving impactful research initiatives. - Collaboration & Advocacy: Work with cross-functional teams to socialize your research findings, advocate for their application, and guide the productization of those findings to improve customer experience solutions. - Documentation & Publication: Document significant experimental results, contribute to publishing peer-reviewed papers, and participate in patenting innovations. - Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior researchers, helping them develop their skills in independent research and the communication of their findings. What we're looking for - Education: PhD in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Linguistics, etc.) - Technical Expertise: Strong research experience in LLMs, Conversational AI, or Speech systems, including practical knowledge of algorithm design, model development, and experimental evaluation.
