Role Description The Donor Community Advisor is a core member of MVP's fundraising team responsible for our mid-level fundraising program ($1,000-9,999 in annual giving), including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of 300+ donor households giving between $5,000 and $9,999 annually, and collaborating on data-driven and relational communications strategies to reach 5,000+ households giving $1,000 or more annually. This is a new role contributing to a newly defined segment of our donor base work, combining traditional fundraising, donor organizing, donor education, and campaign-driven outreach. This position reports to the Donor Team Chief of Staff and works closely with colleagues across Donor Advising (major gifts), Donor Organizing, and Communications. Responsibilities - Portfolio Management - Manage a portfolio of approximately 300 households giving $5k-10k annually, through personalized 1:1 and 1:many engagement strategies. - Connect with portfolio donors online and (ideally) in person to build and deepen relationships. - Help identify major-gift prospects and coordinate portfolio transitions with the Donor Advising team. - Solicitation & Campaign Execution - Design and execute structured 1:1 and 1:many outreach and solicitation for portfolio households. - Execute multi-channel outreach — including email, phone, text, mail, and events — ensuring meaningful and consistent touchpoints. - Strategize and execute mass communications, organizing, and solicitation outreach for donors at the $1,000–$4,999 giving level, including data segmentation, messaging, and email writing. - Donor Education & Donor Organizing - Partner with the Donor Organizing team to inspire and mobilize donors, helping them activate their networks in support of grassroots movements and aligned campaigns that are building long-term power. - Organize and participate in donor events, conferences, and other gatherings to deepen engagement and expand MVP’s community of supporters. - Strategy, Analytics, & Reporting - Contribute to donor segmentation analysis and performance reporting. - Track and analyze portfolio metrics — including renewal rates, upgrade rates, and lapsed donor reactivation — to inform ongoing strategy. - Ensure all donor interactions are accurately logged in Salesforce with attention to data integrity and confidentiality. - Support a culture of testing and iteration across the mid-level program. Qualifications - 4–7 years of experience in fundraising or a comparable external-facing relationship role. - A genuine love for donors, large and small, and appreciation for their role in advancing progress. - Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting donors at the $1,000+ level. - Strong proficiency in communicating with donor audiences. - Confidence in managing a large portfolio with strong personal organization and follow-through. - Clear, inspiring written and verbal communication. - Data-informed analytical orientation towards campaign strategy and donor segmentation. - Proficiency with donor databases; Salesforce experience strongly preferred. - Ability to work with independence and manage competing priorities without dedicated analytical support. - Knowledge of and passion for social justice, base-building community organizing, progressive movements, and/or Democratic politics. Role Description The Development and Prospect Research Associate will play a key role in supporting MVP’s fundraising efforts through prospect research, data management, and administrative support. This role will help identify and prioritize high potential donors, support Donor Advisors in their work, and ensure strong data integrity across our systems. Responsibilities - Prospect Research and Pipeline Development - Manage MVP’s prospect research program. - Research and document capacity, source of wealth, and support donor advisors with recommended ask amounts. - Conduct ongoing research to identify new individual and institutional prospects. - Analyze data to improve how we identify and prioritize prospects. - Prepare clear, concise research profiles and briefings for leadership and events. - Salesforce and Data Management - Maintain accurate and up to date prospect research notes in Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. - Ensure strong data integrity and consistent record keeping practices. - Manage donor record updates, cleanup, and overall database health. - Support revenue reporting and data tracking. - Identify and merge duplicate records in the CRM. - Donor Advisor and Administrative Support - Partner with the Development Operations Manager to support Donor Advisors with Salesforce needs such as reporting, household management, opportunity updates and event prospecting. - Support donor team with their monthly expense reporting and other administrative needs as assigned. - Provide general team support including calendar coordination, materials prep, and logistics. - Events and Team Support - Support pre- and post-event communication with invitees and attendees. - Manage note taking and recordings for Donor Team and cross-team meetings. - Support internal systems and workflows including Salesforce requests. Role Description As the Western States Advisor, you will be MVP’s main liaison with local groups, intermediaries, select national partners, and select donors seeking to support movement building across a set of priority states in the West, including but not limited to California, Alaska, Nevada, Nebraska, and Texas. You will report to the Director of State Programs and work closely with peer State Advisors and the Capacity Building teams. State Advisors are integral to meeting MVP’s mission. They are responsible for cultivating trusting relationships and contributing flexible resources to make timely investments that result in greater progressive power and meaningful policy change, especially for communities that are still fighting to secure a seat at the table. Responsibilities include: - Build a deep, ongoing understanding of state political landscapes, progressive infrastructure, challenges, and opportunities through ongoing landscape analyses, and serve as experts in their state at MVP (20%). - Work on the ground with state-based partners to advance power-building efforts in support of short-term and long-term policy and electoral goals (35%). - Make investment recommendations to the MVP team to support immediate political opportunities, organization and infrastructure-building, and long-term progressive electoral and legislative power (15%). - Serve as a trusted ally and strategic advisor to our partners and connect partners with capacity-building resources at MVP to support their organizational development and strategic capacities (10%). - Advise and align in-state donors, funding partners, and intermediaries to leverage, maximize, and streamline funding towards progressive gains (10%). - Document and communicate about the groups and the state landscape regularly as needed; evaluate progress and make recommendations for necessary future strategic shifts (10%).
