This position is 100% virtual and can be performed anywhere within the continental United States. This could change due to business conditions. Occasional travel may be required. The Flight Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role performs first article, in-process, and final inspections, interprets engineering drawings and GD&T, utilizes precision measuring equipment, and investigates quality discrepancies to support corrective actions. The Flight Inspector partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality aerospace products are delivered safely and accurately. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will: - Perform analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for chemical or physical properties. - Perform a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance. - Prepare and monitor quality statistics and reports. - Review production records for conformance to procedures. • Perform in-depth evaluations of electrical infrastructure in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities • Conduct industrial power system assessments, electrical building inspections, safety evaluations, and compliance verification • Assess the condition, code compliance, and reliability of industrial and mission-critical electrical power systems • Review and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and as-built drawings to verify field accuracy • Verify adherence to NFPA (including 70B and 70E), NEC, OSHA, IEEE, and client-specific safety standards • Perform arc flash safety assessments, hazard and study reviews, and compliance inspections • Conduct visual inspections and infrared thermography to identify hot spots, loose connections, or load imbalances • Conduct operational checks on UPS systems and battery banks, reviewing maintenance logs and runtime conditions • Deliver clear, detailed written reports with photographic documentation, highlighting deficiencies, risks, and corrective actions
• Perform infrared thermographic inspections of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites • Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures • Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates, clearly documenting findings and recommendations for corrective action • Represent the company professionally on-site as the primary customer interface • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner, including time tracking, expense reporting, and travel arrangements • May also support building energy audits and assist with cataloging customers’ electrical and mechanical assets
