Role Description Zyte is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer with strong Business Systems and Automation experience to architect and operate the internal technology ecosystem that powers our global company. This role goes beyond endpoint management and traditional IT support — it treats internal IT as an engineering discipline, with code-first automation as the default approach. You will design and operate the backbone of Zyte's internal SaaS platform, integrating systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, finance systems, HR platforms, engineering tools, and collaboration software into a coherent, automated architecture. You'll also play a key role in introducing AI-assisted and AI-driven workflows across the company. Business Systems Engineering - Administer and integrate business-critical SaaS systems, such as: - Salesforce or HubSpot - Customer support platforms (Zendesk, Intercom, etc.) - Billing or subscription systems (Stripe, Chargebee, etc.) - Collaboration and engineering tools (Atlassian, GitHub, Notion) - Design reliable workflows and data synchronization across multiple SaaS platforms - Engineer Internal Automation Systems: - Writing automation scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages - Building internal CLI tools for common IT and business workflows - Developing small internal services that integrate the SaaS platform - Building event-driven automation pipelines using APIs and webhooks - Developing internal bots and ChatOps integrations - Build and Maintain SaaS Integrations: - Design and implement reliable, API-driven integrations between business systems, including: - CRM automation across Salesforce / HubSpot - Syncing customer, billing, and product usage data - Automating entitlement provisioning across internal systems - Connecting support, product, and CRM workflows - Develop Internal Tools: - Internal CLI tools for IT and operations - Automation services for onboarding and access management - Data synchronization services between internal systems - Dashboards and automation services for business operations - ChatOps tools for Slack or internal collaboration platforms - Introduce AI into Internal Workflows: - Identify opportunities to use modern AI technologies to automate or augment internal operations, examples include: - AI-powered internal support assistants - LLM-driven knowledge retrieval across internal documentation - Automated ticket triage and resolution - AI copilots for internal SaaS workflows - Automated analysis of operational data - Design the Internal "IT Golden Path": - Create automated and developer-friendly workflows for employees and teams, building, for example: - Automated onboarding and offboarding pipelines - Identity and access provisioning automation - Self-service automation for common IT tasks - Internal developer-friendly APIs for business systems - IT Service Management & Operations: - Serve as the ultimate level of IT Support for end-users, delivering superior IT assistance to a global, remote workforce. - Emphasize comprehensive root-cause analysis and a 'person-first' philosophy in service delivery. - Security & Compliance Engineering: - Ensure continuous operational adherence to established ISO frameworks. - Implement and administer comprehensive endpoint security measures, including Mobile Device Management (JumpCloud), enterprise-grade password management solutions, and conduct routine access audits to rigorously enforce Zero Trust architecture principles. Qualifications - 8+ years in IT Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems Engineering, or Platform Engineering, including 3+ years in a senior role owning internal business systems and automation at a SaaS/tech company - Scripting Mastery: Strong scripting and programming ability in Python, Go, Bash, Node.js - Cloud Infrastructure: Solid experience operating GCP & AWS environments (VPCs, IAM roles, EC2/S3) - API & Integration Engineering: Strong experience working with external APIs, including: - REST and GraphQL APIs - OAuth authentication flows - Webhook-based event systems - SaaS SDKs and integration frameworks - Operating Systems: Deep working knowledge of macOS and Linux environments - Identity & Security: Experience implementing and managing: - SSO / SAML / SCIM provisioning - Identity lifecycle automation - Zero Trust access models - Compliance & Governance: Experience supporting or passing security and compliance audits, such as: - ISO 27001 | SOC2 | GDPR - Experience working in remote-first or globally distributed environments is strongly preferred Preferred Skills - AI-Assisted Automation: Experience experimenting with or implementing AI-driven automation, such as: - LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) - AI copilots for operational workflows - Semantic search or knowledge retrieval systems - Automated support or ticket triage using AI - Containerization: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for running internal IT microservices - SRE Mindset: Experience applying SLIs/SLOs to internal IT services to measure "uptime" of the employee experience Who You Are - Autonomous: You don’t need a manual.
