Role Overview The Google Lead Specialist is a high-impact role responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing sophisticated paid search and video marketing campaigns to drive eCommerce client growth. This position requires a seasoned expert who can blend high-level strategic planning with tactical execution across Google Search, Shopping, PMAX, YouTube, and Demand Gen. As a Lead Specialist, you are the bridge between strategy and execution. You will work closely with Growth Strategists to develop account roadmaps, provide expert service fulfillment, and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients. You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members, ensuring a high standard of quality and precision across the department. Key Responsibilities Google Ads Strategy & Execution - Vision & Direction: Lead the implementation and management of complex campaigns across Search, Display, YouTube, Shopping, PMax, and Demand Gen. - Strategic Alignment: Develop account strategies in collaboration with Pod Leads and Strategists to ensure in-platform efforts align with business-level client goals (e.g., new customer acquisition, aMER, and CAC targets). - Optimization Cadence: Drive the direction of routine optimizations, including advanced bid adjustments, keyword refinements, audience segmentation, and rigorous A/B testing. - Account Health: Maintain elite Quality Assurance (QA) standards through comprehensive annual audits and monthly light-touch health checks. Client Management & Communication - Trusted Advisor: Build and maintain strong client relationships, leading check-in calls to present test results, optimizations, and strategic recommendations. - Data Insights: Transform complex data into clear, actionable reports that explain the drivers of performance and deliver key insights to the client. Performance Monitoring & Reporting - Deep Analysis: Utilize Google Ads, GA4, Looker Studio, and third-party tools (e.g., Triple Whale) to identify growth opportunities and inefficiencies. - Budget Stewardship: Ensure budgets are meticulously optimized to maximize efficiency and prevent overspending. - Actionable Documentation: Write routine reporting notes that summarize key insights and define clear next steps. Process Optimization & Mentorship - Efficiency Leader: Identify and implement new processes to increase team productivity and elevate service quality. - Team Development: Mentor junior specialists, assisting them with campaign execution, performance tracking, and professional growth. - Delegation: Effectively delegate foundational tasks to Support Specialists while maintaining accountability for the final output. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Expertise - Platform Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Google Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and YouTube. - eCommerce Specialist: Strong proficiency with Google Merchant Center, Shopify, and automated bidding strategies. Experience with Datafeed Watch or Channable is a plus. - Advanced Analytics: Highly skilled in GA4 and interpreting performance data from third-party attribution tools. - YouTube Focus: As YouTube is our primary niche, experience with YouTube paid marketing and incrementality studies is a significant advantage. Soft Skills - Executive Presence: Confident and comfortable demonstrating performance measurement and strategic vision on calls with clientele and executives. - Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into clear, actionable optimizations. - Precision & Organization: Meticulous about naming conventions, campaign structures, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment. - Collaborative Leadership: A proactive teammate who excels in a shared workflow and enjoys mentoring others. Experience Requirements - 3+ years of experience managing Google Ads campaigns, ideally within an agency setting. - Proven track record of developing paid media strategies that scale eCommerce brands. - Comfortable managing multiple Google Ads accounts with large monthly spend. - Experience across a variety of eCommerce industry verticals (e.g. Automotive, Skincare, Sporting Goods, etc.)
