Senior EDA Tools and Systems Support Hardware Engineer
Cisco
• Provide expert-level support for ECAD tools focusing on schematic capture and PCB layout workflows • Develop and maintain scripts to automate design tasks, improve data integrity, and streamline the design-to-manufacturing flow • Manage and maintain Linux-based EDA environments, provide secondary support for Windows-based design workstations • Manage EDA license servers, monitor usage, and troubleshoot checkout issues • Coordinate tool upgrades, patch rollouts, validation, and user communication and training • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, internal best practices, support knowledge bases, and user guides
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering + 6 years of related experience, or Masters in Electrical Engineering + 3 years of related experience or equivalent related work experience
- 5+ years of experience in EDA/CAD support (Level 2/3)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an end user of ECAD tools like Cadence Allegro, Concept, or similar platforms
- Experience with Linux environments and ability to troubleshoot system-level issues
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, Skill or other relevant languages
- Experience using AI tools to assist in creating code and documentation
- Availability to work outside regular business hours and on weekends on an infrequent, as-needed basis
