• Your primary focus will be scaling and maturing Vesta’s infrastructure to support the entire mortgage market reliably, securely, and efficiently. • You’ll be responsible for building the foundational systems that power engineering velocity and platform reliability, including cloud architecture, deployment systems, observability, incident response, and internal developer tooling.

Role Description Pilot is a successful startup hiring a senior engineer on our Infrastructure team. The Infrastructure team accelerates the rest of R&D by providing scalable, efficient, and high-quality building blocks for product development, while also ensuring we can support business growth in a secure and reliable way. The team is responsible for building simple, scalable abstractions and owns the full Infrastructure stack from the AWS infra that our systems run on to the product platform that our product engineers use. Pilot’s aim is to provide our customers with the same superpowers as large companies with full finance teams, including: - A deep understanding of financial health of the business - The machinery to constantly improve it - The predictive abilities to thoughtfully plan for the future We do this at a fraction of the cost a large company would pay for this, by delivering these capabilities through powerful software. Pilot’s backend is written in fully typed modern Python, and our frontend is JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js. We use Terraform to manage our production infrastructure, and deploy Docker containers to ECS. AWS CodeDeploy powers our deployments and we rely on Honeycomb for our monitoring and Postgres as our database. We're looking for senior infra engineers who are generalists comfortable working across the full infrastructure stack, with a product platform bent and full stack familiarity. • Implementation and Support of eDiscovery applications and supporting infrastructure • eDiscovery software support, with the ability to triage and route calls to appropriate parties • Assisting Application Support Engineers with application issues; employing root causes analysis • Ensuring client environments adhere to System Requirements as outlined by the George Jon best practices • Maintaining client environments across George Jon’s global footprint. • Developing in-depth knowledge of George Jon’s offerings and how it relates to the customer’s needs • Assisting Team Members and/or providing escalation support • Creating and editing documentation of internal processes and procedures • Communicating with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages • Entering all work as service tickets into ConnectWise; managing and logging all time and expenses

• Build and evolve Capacity’s cloud platform on AWS, including compute, storage, database (Aurora / MariaDB on RDS), and networking architecture across a multi-account AWS Organization • Provision, operate, and scale Capacity’s Kubernetes platform (EKS): cluster infrastructure, node groups, ingress (AWS ALB), Linkerd service mesh, Helm-based platform components, and autoscaling (KEDA, cluster-autoscaler) • Author and own infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt; set and maintain standards for how infrastructure is defined, reviewed, and versioned • Design and manage network architecture: VPCs, segmentation, DNS, AWS VPN, and certificate infrastructure • Define and enforce environment provisioning standards across dev, staging, and production • Lead cloud cost optimization and capacity planning; evaluate architectural tradeoffs with cost in mind • Drive design and execution on major platform initiatives (e.g. AWS account consolidation across acquired platforms, network redesign, database migrations, cross-platform standardization) • Mentor infrastructure engineers through code review, pairing, and design guidance • Partner with DevOps at the IaC execution boundary (you write the infrastructure, their pipelines run it) • Partner with Information Security on cloud security posture, network segmentation, and compliance work supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI obligations • Author and maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and provisioning standards
