• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and the data systems that support interactive, narrative-driven information experiences. • Own application-layer technical standards, including code quality, system design patterns, deployment practices, and performance benchmarks. • Collaborate with Information Engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver engaging data stories, visualizations, and user interfaces that serve organizational goals. • Write and maintain production-quality code across the full stack, with particular emphasis on back-end services, data APIs, and application infrastructure. • Lead the evaluation, integration, and responsible deployment of generative AI capabilities within web applications and information systems. • Prototype and develop proof-of-concept architectures for emerging interface paradigms, including extended reality (XR) and AI-assisted user experiences. • Ensure application reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability across all systems owned by the ID&E team. • Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches to advance the team's technical capabilities. • Establish and document technical standards and best practices for application engineering within the ID&E practice. • Partner with the Information Engineers on shared front-end concerns, providing architectural guidance while collaborating on design system implementation and UI component quality. • Participate in continuous learning and professional development, with particular focus on emerging technologies relevant to the transformation office's R&D agenda.

• Develop Java applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot • Design and implement microservices-based architectures • Develop and consume REST APIs • Integrate applications using JMS, Kafka, or other messaging systems • Work with Oracle databases, including data modeling and SQL query optimization • Develop solutions using NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar) • Deploy applications to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Ensure application observability using monitoring tools • Apply development best practices, automated testing, code reviews, and software quality standards • Participate in architectural decisions and technology evolution

• Define and evolve the architecture of our enterprise-grade load balancer. • Lead design and development of the load balancer’s data plane, control plane and orchestration tools for scalable traffic management and high availability within Kubernetes. • Guide the team through technical decisions, design reviews, and performance/security optimizations. • Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams to align technical direction with business needs. • Contribute to and uphold engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence.

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable iOS build and release tooling, including Azure DevOps pipelines, build caching, release automation, shared scripts, reusable tasks, variable groups, and consistent build-system configurations across teams. • Advance CI/CD performance and efficiency by evaluating emerging tooling, reducing build times, eliminating unused capacity, and tracking impact with measurable metrics. • Set and uphold coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices across the iOS engineering team. • Collaborate with Product Managers, DevOps and backend engineers and tech leads to align technical solutions and tooling direction with business goals and the broader mobile platform strategy. • Mentor and coach iOS engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and technical excellence. • Monitor and optimize app performance, stability, and release processes to ensure smooth, reliable deployments. • Stay current with iOS platform updates, tools, and emerging trends, introducing innovative solutions that keep our apps ahead of the curve. • Partner with leadership to shape product roadmaps and contribute to the long-term mobile strategy.
