Role Description We are seeking an Enterprise Integration Architect to design and govern integrations between Salesforce and the broader enterprise application landscape. The role focuses on integration architecture, middleware selection, API strategy, and event-driven patterns that connect Salesforce reliably with ERP, data, marketing, and operational systems. The ideal candidate has architected Salesforce integration solutions at meaningful scale and brings deep familiarity with both Salesforce-native and enterprise middleware approaches. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production. Key Responsibilities - Define the end-to-end integration architecture for Salesforce ecosystems spanning Sales, Service, Marketing, and Industry Clouds. - Select and apply appropriate integration patterns including request-reply, fire-and-forget, batch, and event-driven approaches. - Design integrations using Salesforce-native capabilities (Platform Events, Change Data Capture, Connect, Composite APIs) alongside enterprise middleware such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica. - Lead integration design reviews and approve technical designs across Salesforce programs. - Define API strategy, contract management, and versioning standards for Salesforce-related integrations. - Architect data synchronization patterns for high-volume integrations with ERP, billing, and operational systems. - Design identity and access patterns for Salesforce integrations including OAuth flows and connected app management. - Establish error handling, retry, and dead-letter strategies that ensure reliable integration operations. - Drive performance, scalability, and governor-limit management for integration-heavy Salesforce implementations, designing patterns that stay safely within platform limits even as transaction volumes grow over time. - Collaborate with security teams to ensure integrations meet enterprise security requirements. - Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through code review, design review, pair programming, and structured knowledge sharing, helping the broader team grow in technical maturity and confidence over time. - Produce high-quality architecture artifacts — context diagrams, sequence diagrams, decision records, and reference designs — that capture key technical decisions clearly enough to be understood months or years later. - Collaborate closely with vendors to evaluate and onboard integration platforms, gathering requirements, aligning on technical approach, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both functional needs and broader engineering and operational standards. - Stay current with Salesforce integration capabilities and broader iPaaS evolution. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Eight or more years of Salesforce experience, with significant time on complex integrations. - Deep understanding of Salesforce APIs, Platform Events, and Change Data Capture. - Hands-on experience with at least one major iPaaS such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica. - Strong understanding of integration patterns and enterprise application architecture. - Experience designing data synchronization strategies with ERP and operational systems. - Strong understanding of identity, OAuth, and integration security. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Salesforce Certified Integration Architect credential. - Track record of leading large Salesforce integration programs. Preferred Qualifications - MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect. - Experience with event-driven integration platforms (Kafka, Solace, Confluent). - Familiarity with Industry Clouds and their data-integration nuances. - Exposure to high-volume integration scenarios (10M+ records/day). - Experience integrating Salesforce with SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite ERP systems. How to Apply Would you like to know more about this opportunity? For immediate consideration, please send your resume to [email protected] or contact us at (908) 505-3545. Role Description Your client is a software company running a large, business-critical ERP system used to support core operational processes such as payroll, billing, and workforce scheduling. The organisation is in the middle of a multi-year modernisation programme, moving away from a legacy technology stack toward a modern .NET/web-based platform, while keeping the legacy system fully operational in production throughout the transition. Contract: B2B or Freelance - Strong, hands-on SQL Server expertise (design, indexing, query optimisation, operational practices). - Solid working knowledge of PostgreSQL, sufficient to assess migration feasibility and compatibility. - Proven experience optimising query and index performance in production environments. - Experience modernising or refactoring databases behind legacy applications. - Ability to define and set up database observability/monitoring (baselines, diagnostics, wait stats, deadlock detection, alerting). - A pragmatic, risk-aware approach that balances improvement effort against migration cost and business risk. Qualifications - Experience assessing and scoping SQL Server → PostgreSQL migrations (not necessarily having executed a full migration). - Experience working in environments where legacy and modern systems coexist in production during a transition. - Comfort working with Specification-Driven Development (SDD) frameworks such as OpenSpec, or similar structured requirements/traceability approaches. - Ability to produce clear, prioritised, business-readable recommendations for non-DBA stakeholders. - Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required. Requirements - Review the current SQL Server database design, indexes, queries and operational practices. - Identify performance issues, technical debt, risks and areas that are already working well. - Recommend and prioritise pragmatic improvements. - Assess the feasibility of migrating from SQL Server to PostgreSQL — identifying compatibility issues, risks, expected effort and possible migration approaches. - Define and implement robust database observability and performance monitoring, including performance baselines, query-level diagnostics, wait statistics, blocking/deadlock detection, capacity trends and actionable alerting. - Work within an AI-native engineering environment, using Specification-Driven Development (SDD) frameworks such as OpenSpec to structure requirements, implementation plans, validation and traceability. Nice to have - Prior exposure to legacy 4GL or transpiled/generated codebases. - Familiarity with .NET/Blazor application ecosystems as a consumer of the data layer. - Experience with database-heavy ERP systems (payroll, billing, scheduling domains). - Experience in AI-assisted/AI-native engineering workflows more broadly.
