Role Description We are currently seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Governance Analyst & Enablement Intern to join our Information Security team, working remotely (U.S.-based). This is a full-time, 3-month internship with the option to extend by an additional 3 months. The intern will help lay the groundwork for an eventual ISO 27001 certification and gain hands-on exposure to enterprise security governance practices. What you will be doing: - Supports the foundation-building work for an eventual ISO 27001 certification. - Performs risk assessments. - Documents risk treatments and associated follow-up actions. - Generates governance-related dashboards for executive team leaders. - Assists with security policy formulation and document management. - Gathers security control evidence and associated records. - Supports management and setup of the governance SaaS platform. - Performs various other duties as required. Qualifications - Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, IT, or a related field. - Familiarity with basic security or risk-management concepts (coursework or project experience is acceptable). - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for documentation and evidence tracking. - Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team. - Good communication skills, comfortable in presenting to groups of stakeholders and following up on requests. - Comfortable using Microsoft 365 suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Benefits - For this role, the estimated hourly rate is between $18 and $20. The actual rate will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. • Partner with GitLab's global benefits broker and local vendors to lead plan renewals, oversee day-to-day plan operations, manage escalations, implement plan changes, and drive continuous improvement. • Lead end-to-end implementation of new and enhanced benefits programs, from business cases and vendor selection through configuration, testing, launch communications, and post-launch improvements. • Manage day-to-day administration for assigned global benefits programs, including eligibility, enrollment, billing, quality assurance, and issue resolution; track and improve enrollment accuracy, billing reconciliation, and issue-resolution times. • Partner with Payroll, Finance, People Operations, and People Technology to support accurate reporting and compliance. • Coordinate benefits operations across countries and employment models, including PEO, EOR, and GitLab entity arrangements; work with local vendors, brokers, and internal partners to resolve complex cases and apply relevant local requirements. • Serve as a point of contact for complex benefits inquiries, partnering with HelpLab and People Operations to triage and resolve cases and use insights to improve plan and process design. • Analyze benefits utilization, cost, survey, and qualitative data to identify trends, assess plan competitiveness, and develop recommendations and business cases that improve program outcomes. • Simplify, standardize, and automate benefits processes while keeping the team member experience at the center.

• Leverage data analytics to uncover insights that help optimize product, risk, or growth strategies across geographies. • Assist in tracking performance metrics, user behavior, and macroeconomic trends that impact business outcomes, flagging risks and anomalies to senior team members. • Write clean, working SQL and Python to build scalable reporting and partner with Engineering to support the deployment of machine learning and risk models. • Work closely with Product, Legal, and Compliance to understand evolving consumer lending regulations and market requirements. • Support cross-functional discussions to ensure new product launches and market entries align with our operational capabilities and risk appetite. • Integrate AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, copilots) into your daily workflows to accelerate data mining and routine tasks, holding the line on verifying outputs.

• Perform technical provisioning of equipment (routers, ONUs, switches) • Configure and activate services (voice, data, internet, VoIP, and dedicated links) • Update and monitor service orders until activation is completed • Execute functionality tests to ensure full operation of services • Interact with field teams and customer support • Update systems with provisioning status and performance indicators • Support resolution of technical faults during the activation process • Ensure compliance with SLAs and quality standards
