Job Description

Director of DevOps

Knox Systems, Inc.

• Define and own Knox’s DevOps and Platform Engineering strategy, roadmap, and operating model. • Build, lead, and scale a multi-disciplinary organization of DevOps Managers, Platform Engineers, and SREs. • Establish clear ownership models, career paths, performance standards, and succession planning. • Champion a DevSecOps culture focused on automation, reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Serve as the executive escalation point for platform reliability, deployment risk, and operational maturity. • Set architectural direction for multi-cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. • Ensure platform designs and automation meet FedRAMP Moderate/High requirements and NIST 800-53 controls. • Own the enterprise CI/CD strategy supporting multiple product and engineering teams. • Define and track DORA metrics, deployment success rates, and release reliability KPIs. • Partner with NOC and Security teams to improve detection, alerting, and incident response.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
  • 5+ years leading senior engineers and/or managers in complex environments.
  • Proven experience operating multi-cloud platforms in regulated industries.
  • Deep expertise in IaC, CI/CD, GitOps, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong working knowledge of FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 control implementation.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Preferred Certifications: AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect, Terraform Professional, CISSP, or ITIL v4

You Will: - Work collaboratively and independently to design and deliver solutions, as well as review and provide feedback for solutions delivered by other engineers for Ping's software and services on our cloud hosted production infrastructure. - Shape how our mission-critical enterprise software solutions are developed and deployed using optimized and automated CI/CD pipelines that ensure high-quality products. - Help design, build, and support infrastructure and security technologies within the cloud that offer resiliency, observability, and optimized cost. - Communicate proactively and effectively to different audiences within the company. Share your own experience, knowledge, and expertise with others to help them grow and develop. - Participate in planning work and identify areas of improvement. - Perform technology evaluations and selections - Participate in an on-call rotation for maintenance of the cloud solutions. You Have: - Experience in scalable, distributed systems architecture - Experience with Cloud Platforms - Experience programming using Go - Experience with containerization technologies (including Docker) and orchestration technologies (including Kubernetes) - Experience defining and implementing automated service deployments, including provisions for networking, security, reliability, management, reporting, and configuration management - In-depth understanding of best practices for deployment automation - Experience using Git in a team environment (pull requests, branching, push, and pulls) - CS Degree or equivalent experience You will have an advantage if: - You have an in-depth understanding of networking, including routing, naming, security, network performance, and network failure modes - You have an in-depth understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) - You have experience with instrumentation and management of automated deployments - You have experience resolving customer deployment issues - You have worked on remote, globally distributed teams - You understand CI/CD processes, and have experience building CI/CD pipelines Salary: $136,301-$170,000 In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above.
