Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server (2016+). - Proven experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting SQL locks, deadlocks, and query bottlenecks. - Deep knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, indexing strategies, and execution plans. - Experience in reverse engineering large-scale, legacy stored procedure logic. - Ability to communicate findings and improvement plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Role Description JPI is seeking a database administrator (DBA) to assist the U.S. Coast Guard with large-scale government-wide database management for pay and personnel programs. The Functional Consultant will be a member of a team providing system upgrades, implementation and deployment, and maintenance to a federal client. The successful candidate will have: - At least 6 years of experience with a B.A./B.S. degree or 5 years of experience with a master’s degree. - Experience supporting database updates, implementations, automation for business process improvement, and interacting with high-level federal clients. - Thought leadership, critical thinking, and clear written and oral communication skills. - Ability to work effectively independently and in team settings, including close collaboration with program managers and client personnel.
