Role Description As a Middle Full-Stack Engineer (. NET) on the Pluto team within Finance - Payments, you will help build, maintain, and improve business-critical payment systems that support the full payment lifecycle. This role is ideal for a backend-leaning full stack engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while developing a deeper understanding of business logic and payment flows. You’ll work on integrations with payment processors and third-party systems, support ongoing improvements to payment infrastructure, and help ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and high quality. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who is eager to grow long-term, expand domain expertise in payments, and contribute to systems that directly impact core business operations. What You’ll Do - Design, develop, maintain, and improve backend-focused payment solutions using C# and .NET. - Integrate new payment processors and third-party systems to support evolving business needs. - Contribute to payment-related flows across the lifecycle, including transactions, refunds, chargebacks, and related service interactions. - Support ongoing refactoring and improvement of payment infrastructure to increase quality, resiliency, and maintainability. - Write and maintain automated tests, including unit tests and, where applicable, integration tests. - Work with complex SQL queries and data flows in a high-load environment where quality and performance matter. - Help keep systems secure and aligned with PCI compliance requirements. - Collaborate with teammates to understand business needs and translate them into reliable technical solutions. - Use AI-assisted development tools to support engineering productivity and delivery. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to strong engineering standards across the team. Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a backend focus. - Proficiency in .NET frameworks, C#, and data access technologies. - Knowledge of MS SQL, including working with more complex queries and performance-sensitive data scenarios. - Familiarity with writing unit and integration tests (e.g., using Jest, NUnit, Playwright, React Testing Library, or similar frameworks). - Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript. - Interest in learning the payments domain and developing an understanding of the business logic behind payment flows. - Experience with LLMs / Generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Copilot, Cursor). - Experience with Web Page performance optimization and measurement will be a plus. - Upper-intermediate level of English or higher.
