SYSCOM is seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to join a large-scale modernization initiative supporting a major public sector organization. You'll work with complex enterprise databases, data integration, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions in a fully remote environment. This one-year consulting opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a highly skilled technical team. Extensions may be possible based on project needs. As a Senior Database Developer, you will: - Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions. - Support complex data integration, migration, reporting, and performance optimization initiatives. - Develop stored procedures, views, SQL scripts, and other database components supporting transactional and reporting systems. - Execute large-scale data migrations, including cleansing, validation, and transformation across enterprise systems. - Build data ingestion and transformation workflows across raw, staging, curated, and analytics layers. - Maintain various reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI. - Design and implement logical and physical data models (ERDs) for various applications. - Provide production support, including troubleshooting performance issues and on-call support. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies, development activities, code reviews, and release cycles. - Provide knowledge transfer. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in database development or data engineering. - Expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL and performance tuning. - Experience with ETL tools (SSIS), Python, or PySpark. - Strong background in data modeling and data integration. - Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, PowerBI). - Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins. - Experience supporting critical applications in financial, government, or legal industries.
