Workday Senior Project Manager

Role Description The Workday Senior Project Manager (PM) will be directly responsible for overseeing all stages of the project and project delivery. The responsibilities include: - Assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability. - Developing and maintaining a budget and schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. - Maintaining standard project management documentation and metrics with limited direction. - Working directly with internal and external client counterparts, other project leads, and ongoing operations to deliver successful implementation. - Managing the scope of the project. - Promoting team engagement and building and maintaining a successful relationship with the client. The Role: - Manage Project Scope and Delivery - Leads a larger LE project, Tenant Assessment, Mergers & Acquisitions or multiple ME projects. - Could act as a lead Project Manager (PM) overseeing PM(s) on a client deal. - Participates in sales opportunities and process. - Considered a coach or buddy for PMs. - Leads building the practice initiatives. - PM SME on WD and Alight methodology. - Could be a people manager. - Manages Workday implementations through all life cycle stages. - Work with the Client PM to develop the project plan and project charter, including procedures for managing Actions, Risks and Issues throughout the project. - Communicate Project Plan: ensure a common understanding by setting expectations regarding the project plan to align the stakeholders and team members. - Execute Project Plan: execute the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals. - Monitor and Control Project Work: measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor and report on the progress of the project against plan and budget. - Manage Project Scope: manage changes to the project scope, schedule, roles & responsibilities and costs. - Ensure any sign-offs required for the project are obtained in a timely manner. - Close Contractual Obligations: formalize final acceptance for the project from the sponsor/customer. - Communicates: provides information to others both internal and external to the organization. - Partnership with Workday: liaise with Workday in terms of project status updates and other processes. - Align and Manage Resources and Budget - Execute Resource Allocation Plan: manage resource allocation proactively. - Celebrate accomplishments of goals. - Engage Others: introduce the Alight project team members to the project. - Manage Client billing with support from a Project Coordinator. - Monitor and manage project budget and margin. - Contribute to Practice Building - Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned. - Leads internal practice building initiatives. - Understands quality standards for own work and monitors and manages work of team members. - Follow Alight Workday Deployment Methodology. - Ensure Customer Success - Client Relationship: establishes and maintains client relationships. - Client Success: plan and execute adequate Knowledge Transfer to the Client. - Measure Customer Satisfaction: measure customer satisfaction at the end of the project. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, Finance or relevant field of study. - 5 to 7 plus years previous program/project management experience required. - Experience leading a project implementation of Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP or similar applications. - Experience leading and participating in technical and cross-functional projects. - Previous functional/technical HCM, Payroll and Financials deployment experience. - Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. - Ability to recognize personal skills, abilities, limitations and strengths. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to frequent change. - Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Workday Project Management Certification strongly preferred. - This opportunity does not offer sponsorship. - Travel up to 50%. - If not already Workday certified, must successfully pass Workday HCM and/or Financials Core and PM training classes. Specific Duties & Responsibilities - Partner with investigator(s) and exercises independent judgement in managing the conduct of the research on behalf of the PI. - Participate in scientific discussions with collaborators, PIs, and funding organizations. - Collaborate with PI on protocol development and study design. - Develop, or oversee development of standard operating procedures and data collection forms from protocol. - Train and provide oversight of research data management and regulatory compliance issues. - Develop, or oversee development of, study budget(s) and ensure that all study costs are included in the budget. - Responsible for finance-related issues. - Ensure the development, testing and evaluation of manuals, questionnaires, and coding structures, for the efficient collection of data. - Oversee data collection and validation. - Oversee quality control of study data. - Lead study meetings to examine data, determine next steps, and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals. - Contribute to presentations and manuscripts. - Hire, supervise, and manage performance of other exempt-level research staff. - Other duties as assigned.
