Role Description We are seeking a Lead LIMS Developer to provide technical leadership for a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) modernization initiative. During the first year, this position will primarily focus on the design and delivery of a new LIMS modernization program in its initial planning and discovery phase. The ideal candidate will bring strong thought leadership, strategic thinking, solution design expertise, and the ability to translate healthcare and laboratory operational needs into scalable technical solutions. This role will partner closely with laboratory operations, healthcare stakeholders, quality assurance, product owners, architects, and development teams to define the future-state LIMS environment. The Lead will guide technical design, establish development standards, evaluate solution options, conduct architecture and code reviews, and remain actively involved in hands-on development and problem resolution. Direct healthcare, laboratory, and LIMS experience is required. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of SAPIO LIMS and/or LabVantage solutions. - Translate laboratory and business requirements into scalable workflows, integrations, and data models. - Design and optimize laboratory processes, including sample management, testing, results review, approvals, and exception handling. - Architect integrations with laboratory instruments, healthcare systems, ELN, SDMS, CDS, and enterprise platforms. - Develop and oversee APIs, microservices, custom configurations, business rules, and platform extensions. - Establish technical standards, development best practices, and architecture governance. - Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, and technical quality assessments. - Lead onshore and offshore engineering teams while mentoring developers and driving technical excellence. - Ensure compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+, data integrity, security, and regulatory requirements. - Support Computer System Validation (CSV) activities, including URS, FRS, Traceability, IQ/OQ/PQ, and audit readiness.
