Role Description Storable's Platform Engineering team builds the foundational services and infrastructure that power our products, from tenant management and payments to reporting and facility security. Our goal is to provide a reliable, scalable, and intuitive platform so product teams can focus on delivering great experiences for our customers instead of fighting their tools. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen and evolve this platform. You will help lead our shift toward shared backend services, improving reliability, performance, and developer experience for high-throughput, transaction-heavy workloads. You will collaborate closely with product engineering, payments, data, and infrastructure teams to design and deliver platform capabilities that scale with our business. This is a hands-on role with meaningful technical ownership. You will spend most of your time designing and shipping code, while also contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring other engineers, and helping us adopt AI-assisted development practices that make the whole team more effective. We are a remote-first, US-based team that values clear written communication, well-defined ownership, and transparent decision-making. If you enjoy solving complex systems problems, care deeply about reliability, and like building platforms that make other engineers more productive, this role is for you. Qualifications - 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in SaaS or product engineering environments. - Experience building and operating backend services in modern server-side frameworks (ideally C# .NET, and Node.js/TypeScript) with a relational database such as Postgres or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization. - Experience working on platform, infrastructure, or other foundational teams, or owning shared services that multiple product teams rely on. - Strong foundation in production-grade engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and incident response. - Ability to reason about performance, reliability, and data correctness in high-integrity domains such as financial, payments, or similarly sensitive systems. - Comfort using AI-assisted development tools in your daily work, with examples of how you have used AI to improve the quality, speed, or reliability of your output. - Experience integrating with 3rd party services and/or experience building enterprise level shared services. Bonus points - Experience improving test suites and deployment practices (for example, reducing test runtime, eliminating flaky tests, or introducing canary/blue–green deployment strategies). - Experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms, golden paths, or other platform-as-product initiatives. - Familiarity with self-storage, property management, or similar operational software domains. Requirements - All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. - Storable is a fully distributed company, but is currently only registered for employment in certain states. - To be eligible for employment, you must reside in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WY.
