Software Engineering Manager
TuringThe world’s most deeply vetted developers and teams, matched by AI.
• Own your team's delivery, health, and growth — planning, execution, and shipping across one or more teams. • Hire, grow, and retain engineers; run 1:1s, performance management, and career development. • Set and raise engineering standards, processes, and ways of working. • Provide technical direction and pressure-test decisions without micromanaging. • Partner with product, design, and leadership; manage up and across. • Own team-level operational excellence, including incident and on-call ownership.
• Leading and growing a team of engineers (typically 5–10), with real ownership over their growth and performance • Balancing people leadership with enough technical depth to stay credible in design discussions and code reviews • Partnering with product management to turn strategy into a clear, achievable roadmap • Building a healthy team culture — one where people do their best work and want to stick around • Hiring, coaching, and sometimes making the hard calls when performance isn't there • Removing blockers so your team can focus on shipping
