Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineer
Twilio
• Lead technical engagements end-to-end scoping solution architecture in POC workshops, designing and building production-grade systems, and driving the engagement through stabilization to the launch of the first live use case. • Write and ship production code (Python, TypeScript, Node) directly in customer codebases — designing APIs, integrating with existing customer architecture, building proper error handling, observability, and test coverage — working as a hands-on contributor alongside customer engineers, not just an advisor. • Architect solutions that pass customer Infosec, security, and Architecture Review Board (ARB) review, translating security and compliance requirements into concrete implementation decisions around auth, data handling, and infrastructure design. • Lead high-energy customer hackathons and builder activation events at flagship or target Direct accounts to accelerate the adoption of new solutions. • Build and maintain reusable technical assets — reference implementations, starter apps, SDKs, sample repos, and companion engineering guides — that demonstrate sound architecture and become the technical backbone for adoption across accounts. • Partner with Enterprise Architects and Demo Platform Engineering to turn high-level reference architectures into working, deployable code that customer builder teams can extend on their own. • Evangelize Twilio within the B2B builder communities of the target accounts by driving building of net new POCs and demos that bring to life architectures discussed at the C-suite, line of business levels in the sales cycles • Utilize your software engineering expertise to ensure customers’ builder teams develop full understanding of and familiarity with the whole platform capabilities of the solutions being pitched or sold • Work closely with the Demo Platform Engineering and Enterprise Architect teams to ensure C-suite positioning and the higher level reference architectures are properly activated within the builder communities of the target accounts • Synthesize field insights from every production deployment to directly inform R&D of necessary product improvements and feature requirements
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong track record of shipping production code (Python, TypeScript, Node) in real systems — not just prototypes or demos.
- Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals: API design, system architecture, testing, debugging, version control workflows, and CI/CD.
- Demonstrated experience running end-to-end technical engagements — from POC workshops through to production deployment
- Strong communication skills and executive presence, whether it’s in board rooms with C-level stakeholders, customer meetings, or internal meetings with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to have strong opinions loosely held, and willingness to lean into ambiguity and proof of thriving in such environment previously
- Strong understanding of Twilio’s products and services, as well as the broader market dynamics of SaaS, specifically in cloud computing, Gen AI, CRM, CDP, and/or CPaaS
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and work collaboratively
- Creative thinking and problem solving skills, with a track record of thinking outside the box and delivering on “wow”
- Prior experience in a forward deployed engineering, technical presales and/or solution engineering experience strongly preferred
Benefits
- competitive pay
- generous time off
- ample parental and wellness leave
- healthcare
- a retirement savings program

AppSec Engineer
Bright Vision TechnologiesBright Vision Technologies is a forward-thinking software development company dedicated to building innovative solutions that help businesses automate and optimize their operations. We leverage cutting-edge technologies to create scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.
Role Description We are looking for an AppSec Engineer to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle, partnering with engineering teams to design secure systems, identify vulnerabilities, and reduce risk across our application portfolio. The role blends hands-on offensive and defensive skills with strong communication and collaboration, helping development teams build secure software efficiently rather than slowing them down. The ideal candidate brings deep technical security expertise, strong software engineering fundamentals, and a track record of shipping security improvements that meaningfully reduce risk in production. Key Responsibilities - Conduct threat modeling and security architecture reviews for new and existing applications and services. - Perform manual code reviews, secure design consultations, and pair with engineering teams on hardening critical components. - Operate and tune SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, and secret-scanning tools across CI/CD pipelines. - Drive vulnerability management workflows including triage, prioritization, owner assignment, and SLA tracking. - Build paved-road libraries and frameworks that make secure patterns the default for engineering teams. - Lead red-team and purple-team exercises against internal applications and drive remediation of identified weaknesses. - Implement and operate runtime protections including WAF, RASP, bot protection, and abuse-detection mechanisms. - Design and enforce secure authentication, authorization, session management, and cryptographic patterns. - Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to harden container, Kubernetes, and cloud environments. - Develop and deliver application security training, lunch-and-learns, and onboarding content for engineering staff. - Respond to security incidents involving application vulnerabilities or active exploitation. - Track and apply emerging threats and CVEs that may affect the application portfolio. - Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation — including architecture diagrams, design decisions, configuration references, runbooks, and operational procedures — so that the system remains supportable, auditable, and easy to onboard new engineers onto over time. - Stay current with application security research and emerging defensive tooling. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. - Five or more years of application security or security engineering experience. - Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, common vulnerability classes, and modern exploit patterns. - Hands-on experience performing code review across at least two major languages. - Deep familiarity with SAST, DAST, SCA, and CI/CD-integrated security tooling. - Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and cryptographic primitives. - Experience with cloud security and modern infrastructure controls. - Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences. - Proficiency in at least one programming language for tooling and automation. - Experience working closely with engineering teams in an Agile environment. Preferred Qualifications - Industry certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, GWAPT, or CISSP. - Experience with offensive security tooling and red-team operations. - Bug bounty experience, public CVEs, or open-source security contributions. - Familiarity with AI/LLM application security considerations. - Exposure to regulated industries with strict compliance requirements. Role Description We are the world’s largest online marketplace for catering – a $60+ billion market just in the U.S. Businesspeople use us to find and order great food for meetings and events; restaurants and caterers use us to grow their catering business. We’re backed by Insight Partners, Iconiq Capital, Wellington, Lightspeed, and GIC, and in early 2019 were valued at $1.25 billion. COVID slammed us, but we responded by finding new customer segments and seizing the rare opportunity COVID offered: when in life does a very successful operation get a do-over? Come help us power Food For Work even better than we did it the first time. If you are passionate about building and growing high-performing teams, while remaining committed to your technical craft, this may be the position for you. With prior management experience, you thrive on inspiring and leading others. You gauge your own success on the success (or failure) of your team, not your own accomplishments. As a manager, you operate with scale and speed, guiding the way for your team. Our application platform team is responsible for foundational capabilities, building and maintaining services that serve workloads related to menus, orders, users, payments, identity and authentication, and third-party service integrations. As a key manager in this domain, you’ll be setting our direction for years to come on these topics and a number of other fundamental tech capabilities, helping us to grow its engineering backbone and setting us up for the long haul. You Will: - Build, lead, and mentor an exceptional team of software engineers, leading conversations, and cultivating execution and decision-making; all while delighting our customers and propelling our team of engineers to execute on projects. - Drive the execution of our vision by translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring our products are robust and adhere to the engineering standards while meeting our goals. - Leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams in the organization to influence our systems and roadmaps. - Operate with scale and speed determining the ideal development lifecycle, technical design, and approach for new and existing solutions. - Instill best practices for software development while delivering high-quality work by fostering pragmatism and urgency. - Contribute technically: Brainstorm with engineers, design solutions, submit and review PRs. - Have fun building meaningful software with awesome people. Qualifications - A passion for building and growing high-performing teams, prior management experience, and a desire to be an impactful leader. - Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring the performance metrics for our applications and systems. - Extensive full-stack web development experience, ideally from an eCommerce and/or SAAS setting. - Working knowledge of modern server-side and client-side frameworks. Ruby, Rails, and React would be a huge plus. - Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Postgres? Even better. - Flexible growth mindset, you’re willing to do what it takes to adapt your team and power them for success. - Goal orientation and a record of success leading engineers. - Curiosity and a desire for building products that matter. - A sharp mind, a soft heart, and a large funny bone.
