Marine Field Service Technician
Profile Software Services
• Work directly with marine clients, supporting our company’s continued growth in the San Francisco Bay Area. • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on MTU engines in various marine applications. • Conduct sea trials and verify engine performance, making necessary adjustments as needed. • Maintain service records and documentation to ensure operational efficiency. • Provide guidance, assistance, and training to apprentice marine technicians. • Travel within the assigned region and occasionally outside the area, including potential international assignments.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in high speed marine engine repair (MTU, Detroit Diesel, Mitsubishi, CAT, John Deer, Cummins, and/or EMD)
- Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software (preferred).
- Experience with tools and technical diagnostics.
- Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and read service manuals.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (technical schooling is a plus).
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to be insured.
- Own set of mechanic tools.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus.
- Ability to complete company-provided manufacturer training (online and in person).

• Diagnose, repair, test, and modify actuators on-site. • Install mechanical and electrical components, including retrofit adaptations. • Complete accurate technical reports for every visit.
• Efficiently deliver field service work to meet cost and time objectives. • Ensure optimal performance of TOMRA Food sorting machines to exceed customer expectations. • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, conducting necessary repairs. • Collaborate with internal departments to enhance customer support processes. • Conduct installations and adjustments to TOMRA Food equipment as required. • Provide comprehensive training to customers on the operations and maintenance of our systems. • Maintain accurate and detailed field reports to guide administrative follow-up procedures. • Willing to travel abroad for at least 80% of the time, based on a flexible schedule.
