• Assist the project team with the development of procurement documents and coordinating the procurement process for the roadside systems, commercial back-office system, customer service and facilities, and collection services. • Assist the project team with managing the implementation of the roadside systems, commercial back-office system, customer service and facilities, and collection services • Contribute to and lead efforts related to the development of the toll program: • Policies and procedures • Interoperability with other toll agencies and programs • Financial controls • Communications and marketing activities • Data management, analytics, and reporting • Coordination with the project Design-Builder construction activities related to the toll site infrastructure • Close coordination with ALDOT and other Alabama agency staff • Development of ALDOT internal tolling staff • The Tolling Technical Manager must be adaptable to working remotely while remaining highly responsive to project needs and day-to-day operational demands.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; preferably with a focus in engineering, planning, computer science or finance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading activities related to the implementation of toll collection systems
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Ability to work independently and is a self-starter
- Comfortable directly engaging the client and the ability to represent the client’s best interests in working with contractors, vendors, and design-build teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong writing skills for preparing technical standards, drafting contract language, RFPs, memos, and reports
