About Vercel:Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next. For more than a decade, Vercel has shaped how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents. We are building the platform for that future, trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next. About the Role:We're looking for a Visual Designer to join our Website Design Engineering team. Your home base is Vercel's web presence, vercel.com, nextjs.org, product launches, and Ship, where you'll design pages, systems, and interactions that get built and shipped, not just handed off. But the impact is bigger than the site: you'll shape how the Vercel brand shows up in the world, from launch moments and event experiences to motion, illustration, and brand-partnership surfaces across digital and physical mediums. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with design engineers who turn design into production code, so your work lives on the real web at Vercel's bar for polish. This is a role for a designer who thinks in systems and sweats the details: someone equally at home setting the typographic rhythm of a landing page, and shaping how a tier-one hero feels on first load. First and foremost, this is a visual design role. Exceptional creativity and design craft for the web are what matter most. Our design engineers own turning design into production code, and you're encouraged to get hands-on in the medium yourself and carry an idea all the way to production when you want to. Either way, we're hiring you for your eye and your ideas, and coding is never a requirement. You will report to the Director of Website Design Engineering and can be remote or hybrid across our SF, NY, London, or Berlin hubs. If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team. What You Will Do: - Define the visual language of Vercel's most-seen surfaces, vercel.com, nextjs.org, product launches, and Ship, and set a creative direction the whole team builds from. - Create the moments people remember: hero animations, launch films, event environments, and brand-partnership work that reaches across screen and physical space. - Own the creative vision end to end, from the first spark of a concept to the finished result shipped on the real web, alongside design engineers who turn your work into production code. - Set the craft bar: the typography, motion, and detail that make a page unmistakably Vercel, the kind of work other teams measure themselves against. - Move fluidly across mediums, web, motion, illustration, 3D, and identity, and raise the bar wherever the Vercel brand shows up. - Leave a mark on the system: influence Geist and our shared patterns through work good enough to become the standard. About You: - Above all, a distinctive eye and original ideas. Exceptional visual design instincts and creativity are the heart of this role, and the web is where most of your work will live. - A portfolio spanning brand systems and work across multiple digital and physical mediums, anchored by strong, shipped web work. 8+ years of design experience. - Meaningful hands-on range across several of these: motion, 3D, illustration, environmental and event design, and interaction. This is a maker's role, and coding is not what we mean by hands-on. - Systems-minded: you design components and patterns, not one-offs, and think about how each choice fits a broader system. - You've shaped launch moments, events, or brand-partnership surfaces under real deadlines, and you know how to make a moment land. - You thrive collaborating with engineers and understand the web as a medium: how layouts behave, what's buildable, how design becomes code. - Comfortable in a technology-driven environment; experience with developer, B2B, or SaaS products is a plus. - A self-starter and egoless collaborator who takes feedback well and gives it generously. - Familiar with Vercel, with working knowledge or experience preferred. Bonus If You: - Can prototype or bring ideas to life in code (React / Tailwind / Next.js). - Have contributed to a design system at scale (even if owning ours won't be your job). Benefits: - Competitive compensation package, including equity. - Inclusive Healthcare Package. - Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills. - Flexible Time Off. - We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $208,000 - $312,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process. Vercel is committed to fostering and empowering an inclusive community within our organization. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Vercel encourages everyone to apply for our available positions, even if they don't necessarily check every box on the job description.
